    1. i have mixed feelings about this book. for an anthology that allegedly tackles the complex issue of "constructing masculinity," i was actually surprised by the lack of investigation into the historical processes that have constructed masculinities past and present. some of the essays were quite good (bell hooks' "Do it for Daddy," Simon Watney, "Gene Wars," Richard Fung, 'Burdens fo Representation, Burdens of Responsibility,"). others were sadly lacking. overall, the essays do little to move bey [...]
