    2. I checked this out as a Playaway audiobook from our on-post library. I had never even heard of Playaway before, but it sure worked out great. All I had to do was check it out, plug it in, and press play. The storyline played out quite predictably, but it served its purpose as far as entertaning me while driving in the car. Apparently the main female character in the story is the daughter of a character in an earlier series Debbie Macomber had wrote (the Manning something, I think). Since I hadn' [...]

    3. This a cute Christmas story about a single father named Phillip Lark and his daughter Mackenizie who are staying in an apartment while awaiting their home which was being built to be completed. Mackenizie think that it is time for her father to fine a wife and if he will not take the first step she will and has decided their neighbor Carrie Weston is the one. From hearing how Carrie brought her mother and her stepfather together decided to try this out on her father and Carrie. Thinking that Mac [...]

    4. In this classic story, Debbie brings those Manning men and Manning sisters home for a mistletoe marriage when a single dad finally says "I do."Such a cute Christmas story. As usual it began with one person out of a complex full that had Christmas cheer, and everyone else was going with the motions and/or 'working' through the holidays. Makes you realize how one person can change not only another person, but alot of people. 5 stars

    5. The book was probably 2.5 stars. It is a short book and is very predictable. You probably get as much from reading the synopsis of the book as you do from reading the book. I believe the book was mainly written to give an update on what happened to a couple of characters from a series. Since I have only read one book from the series it wasn't that helpful to me.

    6. I enjoyed this novella, but I felt that there needed to be more of a connection between Carrie and Phillip. Carrie connected with his daughter, Mackenzie, in an immediate way, but I felt the courtship between the two to be stunted and sparse. The secondary characters were fun, and the story had great potential, but I needed more of a connection between the hero and heroine.

    7. I am usually a huge fan of this author and more so her Christmas books. This one was ok but not my favorite. I wanted to more, a lot more. This is a novella and I felt it was rushed this could have been an amazing story. I felt like there wasn't a strong conncetion between Carrie and Phillip. I did love the connection that Carrie had with Phillips daughter. It was a quick and ok read.

    8. Cute Contemporary romance novella. This the first story I’ve ever read by Macomber, it was in the anthology I’ll Be Home for Christmas with Brenda Novak and Sherryl Woods. It was a sweet story, with a bit of Christmas in the background.

    10. I listened to the audiobook, in which the last disc kept playing the first few lines of each and every track over and over! Oh how I felt like today was ground hogs day!! Luckily the story was dull and uninteresting! Or I might have felt like I actually missed something.

    11. I like Debbie Macomber's books although the Blossom Street series is my favorite. I thought this one was predictable, which is expected in a romance, but there was no real conflict, which is what resulted in the lower rating.

    12. A quick and easy typical Debbie Macomber read. A happy love story for the holidays.Single father and workaholic, Phillip Lark's daughter has decided he has been alone too long and sets out to find him a wife, and her a mother. Neighbor Carrie Weston meets her criteria.

    13. This book was a disappointing end to the Manning Men series. The story felt rushed and very anticlimactic.

    14. Patron Review:Since this is the first book I've read by Debbie Macomber, I did not know the stories prior to this ending.

    15. Silver BellsSilver Bells was a great short read. Loved on the characters. Debbie Macomber is a wonderful story teller. I really enjoy her books.

    16. Two-haiku review:Girl wants dad marriedDecides neighbor is perfectThrows them togetherChristmas novellaGreat supporting charactersShort and very sweet

    17. Cute story set during Christmas time. I borrowed this book through the Sacramento Public Library via the Kindle program.

    18. I love this time of year because I start my Christmas reading. This was a quick Christmas read with very enjoyable characters.

    19. This was a short, easy, fluff read. While it was a fun, light read, it also dealt gently with families dealing with the pain of divorce and parental rejection.

    20. GoodGood holiday read that warms the soul and makes you believe in love even if lik e me you are 65 or older. I liked it a lot.
