    1. As Katrina said: This was fun! It's a real piyy it's too short to be acceptable, there's no love at first sight nor mate stupidity, but characters would have improved with some more depth. Plus the ending seems rushed, so the first half was better than the second one.Still, I'm in for the sequel :)

    2. I loved itMore more more older woman with kids and a hot sexy alpha male that worships the ground you walk on. Give me more.

    3. Story was as good as the cover yay! What a world and characters! The heroine is smart practical pretty talented and a mom. The hero is alpha intelligent and more stubborn than the heroine just. Looking forward to more in this world. I don't know if I want the next book to be more of the current couple or one of the daughters. Guess we'll find out, hopefully soon.Read through Kindle Unlimited but had to immediately purchase for my permanent library.

    4. MediocreThe world building was lacklustre, the characters weren't very well fleshed out, the story was as predictable ad they come and the editing was spotty. This authour is a pass for me, even with free books.

    5. This book had an interesting concept to it. I wasn’t too clear on the steampunkish-ness or whole technology bit. It just seemed rather vague to me. I’m curious to read more about the world itself and learn about the other creatures exiled on Earth. When it came to Kailigh I had a love hate feeling for her. When she wasn’t being contrary to be contrary and actually relaxed and gave in a little it was better for me. I know people where the phrase “cut your nose off despite your face” appl [...]

    6. Oh my gosh. This was a great read that I did not want to put down. I loved the fact that the two main characters were not yungyons and I loved the fact that their children were all extremely special and flashy individuals. Kailigh has spent the majority of her life working to make it so that her daughters would not have to worry about every little thing in life. Especially since she taught them how to fight and how to win against every male out there. To bad she did not know how to heal her chil [...]

    7. I really enjoyed how the heroine was a bit older then the usual in this genre. She had adult girls of her own and each were fascinating characters. They were strong willed, tough and independent. I loved how they were constantly going out on their own to resolve issues. The dragons were also fun and full of excitment. I liked all of the characters in this read and there was an abundance of them. Overall, I was very impressed with this book and will defiantly read the next installment. I also app [...]

    8. Great beginning to a new series. To start, I love that the main character is a kickass and don't take any bs from men, older female. The fact she may be even more than she seems is even better. And the male that falls for her is in for a fight. Just wish she could see how beautiful she really is. There are some great scenes of beating the bad guys. It does get a little hot but at the same time it is never graphic. Can't wait for book two.

    9. This ended up not being anything like the story I thought I was getting from the synopsis and what I did get managed to rub me completely the wrong way. I had issues with the characters, finding them all rather flat and one dimensional as well as in turns childish and unlikable. Both the main characters had excessive control issues and everyone seemed to give in to some seriously sexist "little women" BS mentality, even though dwyrkin women supposedly kick arse and take names so I don't know why [...]

    10. I've been working with coworkers recently on some steampunk themed events and I have a big passion for dragons, so seeing this cover was really intriguing! I figured what could go wrong with steampunk and dragons, then to read the synopsis and find out it's also an apocalyptic, paranormal, kick-ass heroine novel. Score!Kailigh has been living and raising her three girls in the Outlands successfully since she kicked her no-good husband to the curb. She's done what most women and many men for that [...]

    11. Kailigh is a woman living alone with three daughters. They live in a mining town.Their surroundings aren't exactly friendly. But these ladies are as rough and tough enough to take care of themselves. When her youngest daughter is injured, Kailigh is forced to seek help from Maddugh, the dragon shifter that controls their area.Maddugh strikes a bargain with Kailigh, which requires she and her daughters to return to his home and choose suitable males to mate with.As the ruler, he is concerned about r [...]

    12. Definitely different. Steampunk which I dont read too often. It had a sorta urban feel but its not a UF. I do agree with other reviewers that it needed to be more in depth. Felt rushed at the end. No character growth. We dont get to know the daughters at all. So, maybe the next books we do. Maddugh was interesting but it was really hard to tell his feelings a lot of times. Kai was a tough hombre and it was easy to forget she was a woman because of that. I think she should have been a little more [...]

    13. Very Good! This book was very good, fast paced with a lot of fight scenes.Maddugh is the Dragon King who has be feeling bored & is looking for some kind of excitement.Kailigh or Kai as she's called several times in this book has 3 daughters & 1of them is injured & without help that a regular doctor can't give will die.So, in order for her daughter to live she goes to Maddugh's castle & makes a plea & a bargain with him to save her daughter's life. He agrees but won't say what [...]

    14. Loved this book, even if the ending seemed a bit rushed and unfinished. I like the fact that Kai was no simpering female miss, but an older woman who'd had kids and endured in a town raising daughters and knew her mind and was strong. She made a bargain and kept it, looking all the while for the best of her kids.Maddaugh is no fool, a Dragon caught in this Earth zone with no way for his people to get back home, he knows a good thing when he sees it and the woman with fae daughters who could prov [...]

    15. Kai and her three daughters have magical blood and just the fact that they are women makes life tough for them. They are constantly dodging men who think they are easy targets and the flesh traders who are looking to take advantage in a different way. When her youngest daughter is fatally wounded she turns to the dragon shifter king for help. He agrees to help but the girls have to come to his home and make themselves available to be courted. Even though there are still threats some nefarious me [...]

    16. What a great suprise!I stumbled on this book while trolling kindle, since it was free I decided to take a chance. Honestly I didn't have high hopes, but I like dragons, and destopia style world building and kick butt heroines, so yolo.It was delightful! I loved that this book featured an older h, who is divorced and with 3 adult daughters. Kai manages to be strong and snarky without being ott perfect, she's stubborn but also very practical so I never felt like shaking the screen in her decision [...]

    17. I am ashamed to say that this book has sat in my kindle unlimited pile since January. The Mountain King is a story of a woman, Kai, who considers herself past her prime but is strong of will, pride, and family. Kai is placed in two very difficult spots. One that would make her life easier but with unknowns and another that would tear her family apart. The story is entertaining, has plenty of action, and a few sensual scenes. I would have rated the book 5 stars but I didn't care for the abrupt en [...]

    18. Good storyThe story wasn't bad, kept me interested and some parts were funny. I really liked how the mom was so independent and raising her girls to be the same. But to also accept that it's okay to have a partner to rely more on. When I chose this story I didn't realize the setting of time was so old, however some of the parts in the book didn't really fit that time zone. I will read the next one jus to see what or which girl is next.

    19. This book had potential, but at the end of the day it just didn't feel fleshed out. It didn't really commit to steampunk, or fantasy, or any other one genre, rather felt like a weird piecing together of many. I also felt like, for the first book in a series, the characters and world were not well enough established for me to really engage with them. I just felt a little whatever about the whole thing.

    20. the price to be paid Kailigh raised 3 beautiful girls and it wasn't easy protecting them so they learned from a young age how to survive and take care of themselves. Kailigh has never before depended on anyone but now that her youngest is hurt she needs to turn to the last person she would ever go to for help. But is she really willing to pay the price for his help, she will do anything for her children.

    21. Really tried to get into the storyThis book was recommended by an author I follow, sadly this Urban Fantasy was not for me, I never believed a relationship possible between the leads they didnt have chemistry and were extremely dislikable. The world building was interesting but nowadays this is not enough to hook you into a story sometimes I felt it dragged too much. I may try another book from this author, more in a contemporary setting

    22. Maddaugh and KailighKailigh's youngest daughter is dying. She was shot by a sex traffickers, who were trying to kidnap her. Kailigh can only save her by making a deal with Maddaugh the Dragon King. Many adventures begin between her daughter's and Maddaughs sons. Kailigh is a warrior in her own right and vows to avenge her daughter. But Maddaugh wants her for his queen, so he woos her unmercifully. Wonderful paranormal read !! Enjoyed this book tremendously .

    23. I don’t usually read steam punk but I really loved this book. Love strong women in my stories and this one has four. Not only does the mother keep her family safe but she stands up to a dragon shifter, who comes from another world. I was in reader’s heaven. (Please forgive me if the last word offends anyone, but I couldn’t think of a better word.)

    24. What an awesome read!I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. I freely leave this honest review. I loved it! Kai is the mother of three young women. I loved her strength and determination. I was cheating her on throughout the book. Highly recommend this one!

    25. A notably unique foray into the Steampunk Fantasy genre, Emma Alisyn has brought dragon-shifters into their own realm.Read full review in the 2017 September issue of InD'tale Magazine.

    26. loved reading this story a different one than the other books I have read from you they where alle bear shifters. Love the feisty mother and her daughters and the hot dragon and his sons can't wait to read there Stories

    27. A nice twist on a dragon shifter and his mate story. The writing was good, the characters excellent. I love that the heroine was mature and able to take care of herself and had taught her daughters to do the same.

    28. Good readIf you are like me, you are looking for a book with humor, action and romance. With this book you get all a that and more so indulge yourself you can't go wrong. Oh and the chars are strong and not wishy washyThat alone is worth the read.
