    1. The book is approx. 370 pages and has 26 "main characters"!! In addition, the author jumps from 1st to 3rd person, where 1st person isn't always the same main character. At times it is rather difficult to keep up. The literary genre also seems to vary, with some parts being poetic, some venturing into erotic novella form, some parts appearing as rather dry listing of historical facts. All of this could of course be caused by the translation, but the book does not come across as one coherent stor [...]
