    3. Author Terry Grosz is a retired game warden and knows the outdoors this book is affirmation of this. A great story, that get into how mountain men really thought and lived! This book states the Indians and Mountain men killed more than they needed and left the wast for predators, this is something I have never heard. I had always read that Indians never wasted anything, when I see Terry again I want to ask him about this. If you love family, Old West or history this book is for you!

    4. RecommendedI thought this book was one of the better Mountain Man books I have found. If you enjoy this era as much as I do, you will enjoy this novel. Going to download the authors other four Mountain Man books now. Enjoy!

    5. ExcellentI chose this rating as Mr. Grosz's novel was engaging, detailed and very well researched. The author has obviously extensive knowledge and experience in the subject matter. I look forward to adding more of his books to my collections.

    7. The Saga Harlan WaughThis was a very good book and like the other books, very well written. Only when the Waugh family started dying, Being so involved in the story, it was so sad and angry at the same time. Looking for more Phil Thanks

    8. Life of a Mountain ManThe life of a mountain man is as hard as they come. Harlan Waugh is as tough as they come but even he sheds a tear or two, when the people he loves are murdered.

    9. Great storyThis a very good read. Story is very authentic and true to life. This was my first reading of Terry Grosz but it won't be the last.
