    1. Autobiographies are not within my normal reading spectrum. So, breaking out character when I ran across Jimmy Sangsters' I thought I was on to something as it covered Horror Movies, Spy Books, TV Dramas and quite a bit of insight on how things happen, and I wasn't wrong. With "Do You Want It Good or Tuesday?: From Hammer Films to Hollywood!: A Life in the Movies: An Autobiography" Mr. Sangster takes a personal look at his life and work. From Hammer Films to writing for television in Hollywood, Sa [...]

    2. A funny, insightful and - above all else - honest and occasionally heartbreaking memoir from one of the great genre writers: "I think middle-of-the-road writers, like myself, definitely have a sell-by date, and i've reached it." Caveat emptor: The Hemlock 2013 edition has an unforgivable typesetting fail on page 171, obliterating a crucial part of Jimmy's life story. That aside, this book is required reading for any jobbing writer and/or fan.

    3. Jimmy Sangster has given Hammer fans some of the very best scripts to enjoy. Now he gives us his view on the history of the Studio that Dripped Blood (sorry for the cheese) as well as his own experiences writing in the UK as well as for American television. A truly fascinating view of the screenwriters world. Highly engaging and informative. Thanks Jimmy!

    4. A must for Hammer fans, but this book would also be of interest to anyone curious about the life of a for-hire screenwriter. Sangster is best know for Hammer gothic horror classics like The Curse of Frankenstein; but for more than two decades, he was a working screenwriter in film and television in England and Hollywood, and his insights into the business are informative and entertaining.
