    1. DISAPPOINTING AND INACCURATE!!My Fair Lily starts out slow an a bit boring. But my major problem with the story is the inaccurate way it is written. I know its fiction but please the author should have stayed with some semblance of historical facts. To make the reader feel like they are in the Regency era. I read Historical Romance fiction becasue I like this period of time from the past. The story is about Ewan and his sister Meggie fulfilling there fathers dying wish to leave Scotland for 3 mo [...]

    2. I understood what the author was trying to do, but I don’t think the story fully accomplished it.Lily Farthingale is a self-taught scholar who’s determined to become the first female member of The Royal Society. Her biggest, but not only obstacle, is Ewan Cameron’s stubborn grandfather, whom he promised his dying father he’d try to develop a better relationship with. Ewan, as well as his loyal overgrown slobbering canine, Jasper, are both immediately taken by the fiery young Londoner, ho [...]

    3. Between this and To Tempt an Earl, I've had a fairly good reading week. This book is funny, engaging, has likable characters, a semi-interesting plot, and good romance. The only drawback is that it sometimes seems like it's trying too hard to be funnyd the ending is a bit too Disney perfect with everyone changing for the better and getting along. Schmaltzy. But since you're invested by that point, it can be overlooked.

    4. Really -- 3.5 StarsSeries: Farthingale #1Publication Date: 6/2/16My Fair Lily was the first book published for Meara Platt. I enjoyed the story, but you could definitely tell it was the first book. I believe Ms. Platt is an author to watch and I will definitely read more of her books. I’m not sure why Lily was the first book in the series because in Lily, we learn that Lily’s older sisters are married, etc. – but – the last three books in the series are about how those marriages came to [...]

    5. My Fair Lilly ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️(Farthingale #1) Written by Meara PlattWhen the Farthingales moved to fashionable Mayfair in London things were never the same. This fun loving devoted family enjoyed life and love each other deeply and without reservation. The five sisters were devoted to each other and all the family branches as well. The two youngest unmarried sisters identical twins Lilly and Dillie respectively were the biggest handful. The day Lilly fell and crashed into Ewan Came [...]

    6. I wasn't entirely sure how I felt about this story after I finished it. I found myself rolling my eyes a few times during the story (possibly during the seventh or so time Jasper knocks Lily over to bring her into physical contact with Ewan) and I thought Ewan's protestations about marrying Lily rang false, but I understand the author needed a bit of an obstacle to keep them apart. I also thought the grandfather was a bit two-dimensional and that his redemption at the end didn't feel quite right [...]

    7. I found the story for this book a bit lacking. It wasn't exactly dissatisfying, it was just all over the place. But the characters were enjoyable and I definitely plan on reading more by this author. 3 stars.

    8. Ok is it crazy that my favorite character was the dog? lol Jasper was awesome. Look forward to reading the next book.

    9. Highly improbable slightly over the top Regency romp. It did made me laugh couple of times - big, clumsy adorable dogs will do that.

    10. Ewan Cameron is in London to fulfill a deathbed promise to his father to live with his grandfather Duke of Lotheil. He has no intention of getting involved with any of the gently bred ladies. He is going back to Scotland in three months time at the end of his agreed-upon stay. Lily Farthingale is focused on getting into the Royal Society intending to be the first female to do so. The Duke of Lotheil who is the head decides to use that to his advantage to socialize Ewan. Neither Ewan and Lily [...]

    11. A fun adventureIn my experience, rarely is there a story that can make the reader laugh out loud. A good author can draw the reader into the story enough to live an experience. Ms. Platt has created a wonderful and funny love story. The character's were interesting, and developed in such a way that even the characters that were annoying or villainous became enjoyable. She built her characters in a fashion similar to social meetings. First impressions that lean unfavorably initially, but as you s [...]

    12. A cute little story during the Regency era. This was my first read by Ms. Platt and apparently her first story, as well. Overall, I liked the story, but found the beginning to be a bit slow in taking off. As the story line progresses, the book does pick up. It's a cute little story of Lily, a young English woman and Ewan, a Scottish Highlander. Lily is a bit of a nerd and displays very unusual ambitions for a Lady in the Regency era. She loves books and has a gift of well developed literary skill [...]

    13. It seems like I already started reading this book and maybe read it (and forgot) or at least the first chapters. Re~reading it (Chapter 1) has not encouraged me to continue. It is obviously American so timeline is already an issue as well as genre. Ms. Platt should be writing contemporary American Young Adults books and definitely NOT Regencies. The use of present day Americanisms in this genre and timeline is an insult to readers used to the style of Heyer, Balogh, Beverly, Laurens et al The se [...]

    14. This story grabbed my attention and kept it. This is a reread for me. I am partial to dogs and the hero was sexy. The hero, Ewan, is in London due to a promise he made to his father. The heroine, Lily, is a scholar or blue stocking. Jasper, the dog is the reason that these two meet face to face. The story has humor, mystery, romance, action, and adventure. There is a happy ending for this couple. Having read this book, I now want to read the rest of the series. The author writes the dialect that [...]

    15. I have enjoyed the farthingale series. This was a delightful story and could have been fleshed out a little more but I still loved it. The author is so very good with her writing, I have appreciated all of her books that I have read. 8/6/2017 I have read it again and still love it. This is a wonderful series with happy and kind people. Each daughter is special in her own way. Lily is smart, kind and so forgiving. Jasper is mesmerized by her and Ewan loves her so much. Amazing story.

    16. Not the worst book I have read. I like the characters and I like the storyline but I wish it had been written by a better writer. Tessa Dare or Sarah Maclean would have hit this out of the ballpark. The characters could be more developed and the paragraph structure would have been consistent. 2 stars because the characters didn't fight their feelings too long and a Scot in a kilt image is my kryptonite.

    17. As alwaysMeara's farthingate series has provided a delightful read so far. One has to at least follow all five sisters romances to give them final judgment. Ihav two to. The pilots are as unique as the sisters. The dialogue is the winning element. They are just plain well wrote.

    18. LilyWow! This a fabulous book I will definitely read the next book. This is my first time reading this author and it won't be the last. I love her style of writing. The characters are so interesting. The Farthingale family is a loving family with their quirks. Lily 's thoughts had me laughing out loud. Lots of suspense and drama.

    19. I've had this one on my TBR for a while. Someone from my BC posted a funny scene and it got me interested in reading it again. This was an over the top, funny, slightly unbelievable story. There were many mistakes in the timeline, historical accuracy, etc. But the likeableness of the characters made up for all that.It was an enjoyable book that kept me reading and laughing.

    20. I can't say enough about the romance, suspense, charm and fun in this delightful story. My Fair Lily has wonderful characters and a great storyline full of twists and turns. I fell in love with both of Lilly's leading men and I think you will too!

    21. This was a really cute story! The synopsis makes it sound like it's all about the girl, but the story was more about the guy that she falls in love with. I love these new romance stories where the girls are strong & independent. This writer is pretty good. I will read more by her.

    22. My fair Lily a reviewIt's entertaining but not a great story. Lots of silliness about baboons and the over use of the word crumpets. I like stories with smart women and Lily is smart, but some of the social etiquette lapses is too glaring to ignore.

    23. I mostly liked it except some timeline confusion. Travel time by horse is same for both parties yet too much time shown at destination by first party. Worse, they would probably have gone by carriage to get her there and therefore been slower to travel!

    24. Sweet and funny.I really enjoyed Lily and Ewan's story. It was sweet and funny. I look forward to reading the next book.

    25. Whimsical! Beautifully written story about love and perseverance and a lesson not to take life so seriously. A fun read!

    26. A fun, mildly sexy rompA really fun read, with a smart, capable heroine and a hero who appreciates her. The story flows well and has a bit of intrigue to boost ones interest.

    27. I simply loved this story, especially that loveable dog. Great characters and storyline. Five stars
