    1. 400 pages of painfully, overwhelmingly pretentious, utterly inscrutable prose. The dense, VERY occasionally interesting or lovely but mostly just suffocating wordsmithery practically oozes with "oh the cleverness of me!" rapture. I might have given it two stars if I'd stopped halfway through like I wanted to however, I decided I'd invested so much time and energy slogging through the first 200 pages that I should just suck it up and finish it.
