    1. ***I received the ebook free as a review copy from the author/publisher in exchange for an honest review***It has been such a long time since I looked at Celtic/ Arthurian legends – the last time must have been while watching the TV drama Merlin when I was 11, so this took me back! I loved that though, especially when the story is so different to everything I’d heard before.Hamilton-Senter definitely knows what she’s talking about when it comes to the original lore and it helps a newbie li [...]

    2. When you read a lot of books, some of them start to sound like others you have read. This one was sounding familiar- girl starts to get powers, other people do too-they work together to fight evil. What was different was that they are fighting against King Arthur- Merlin- and We find out Guinevere was with Merlin and Arthur chose Morgana over her. Not quite the way I remember the stories. The Lady of the Lake is in the story as well as Goodfellow and others who are trying to figure out what to d [...]

    3. 3.5 to 4 stars. Steeped in mythology I loved how things were twisted from the tales we know. Making the myths and story line feel new. However, at times it felt slow, but I was interested enough to push through. I'm interested to see where this goes.

    4. I won a free copy of this book in a competition, so this might be in part why this book didn't agree with me. Although I love YA, I tend to be pretty selective about which books I read, and unfortunately this book had a lot of the things I tend to try and avoid. However, I'm really grateful for being able to read this copy for free, so I wanted to give a detailed review that gave all aspects of it justice, so that hopefully this book will find the right audience. This book had the feel of self-pu [...]

    5. 5 Stars for Bound in Blue!"Fear is white and thickly veined with sea-blue."Bound in Blue is the story of 17-year-old Rhianna Lynne, a girl who sees her emotions as colors and is very nearly invisible to most people who encounter her. The story begins with the death of Rhianna's mother, which initiates the slow unveiling of the truth of Rhianna's abilities and background. Soon she encounters a group that claims to be protecting humanity from powerful beings out of legend, and Rhi and her best fri [...]

    6. There were no good sides. No wrong and right. No black and white. Only all the colors of the world in between. OHMYOHMYOHMYOHMY! What a fantastic, intriguing & unique take on the Althurean legend!! I have always been fascinated with King Arthur, Merlin, Morgan le Fay, so when I found out that this book/series had a connection to it, well I couldn't wait to read it! I was not disappointed one bit! I just wish I understood the 'language' a little better so I could say the names properly! I love [...]

    7. *Warning: may contain spoilers*Rhiannon Lynne is a high school senior who just lost her mother. Or who she thought was her mother. Upon her mother's death, a woman named Morgan (who Rhiannon judges pretty harshly) says she's her mother's sister. Rhi finds out that's both true and untrue at the same time. She's been raised by her "mother", Vivianne to be 'smallor invisible'. It's something she's done without knowing why she should do it or how she can. She sees in colors, without realizing they a [...]

    8. Bound in Blue H. Hamilton Senter Sword of element book 1This book is an interesting read to be honest I almost stopped reading twice. I love my myths of history, Greek, Celtic, Egyptian, Norse and many more. She redid a classic tale and combined them in a unique way that was unexpected and intriguing! The story is very well written and thought out! I am waiting for book 2 of this series to come out to see where this adventure in the magical world will lead.Tynan explainedRhiannon is Gaelic it me [...]

    9. I received the book Bound in Blue, written by Heather Hamilton Senter from Library Thing. This is a fantastic story and I loved it! I wish we could all find out that our problems in life are truly caused by the fact that we are magic and don’t yet know it. Wouldn’t it be wonderful for a teenager in school to find out that no one noticed them because they actually had a magical shield hiding them? I get a double meaning out of this book on that level. The story is intriguing and has some cool [...]

    10. Now this book was a complete surprise as I randomly picked it up because I liked the concept of the story as it had a different take on Arthur and the legends of Avalon. Rhi is such a likeable character as she is thrust into a world she is not prepared for and it is sink or swim from the get go. Some loveable characters show up and Robin Goodfellow has always been a favourite of mine. While the twists just keep coming, you are engaged enough to want to find out what happens next. By the end of t [...]

    11. LOVED this book. And my rating had little to nothing to do with the fact that I know the author. I can't wait for the next books to come out. I seriously finished it in three days- it was almost impossible to put down.I actually read the full thing twice, which is something I never do. A terrible book to read for five minutes of spare time, unless of course you like to be stopped before the big mystery is revealed, or what the characters thought was the big mystery- or the great solution to beco [...]

    12. Not a bad effort. This initial offering had definate potential but it was at times somewhat convoluted as if the author wanted to make sure she put to use all of the research she'd done. I did like the use of the mythology however it was just the execution that could use work.I wad also at times disappointed with the character relationships, in fact the only ones I found effortless were Rhi, Peter and Lacey. Most of the others felt awkward alot of the time but it was the interactions with, 'the g [...]

    13. If you are heavy into greek mythology, this would be a good book for you. I like mythology, but don't want to go overboard. I found this book to be overkill a tad, to the point where it was almost hard to keep up with who was which god (who goes by many names and you have to keep track of the current name). AnywhoRhiannon's mother dies, leaving Rhi alone in her house with her best friend Peter's parents as guardians. She's always had trouble being noticed by anyone, but it feels like more than t [...]

    14. I wanted to love it, but I just didn't. The writing was pretty good - few mistakes, flowed well, etc.But the plot just felt forced to me and while I LOVE morally ambiguous characters, basically everyone in the damn thing had motives you didn't understand and weren't sure of who they were really helping.I found a lot of the secondary characters to be basically indistinguishable and there was little emotional impact for deaths or betrayals. All of that said, I'm probably going to read the next one [...]

    15. Good start to a YA seriesDespite the title, this book takes place in present day. Its an interesting take on the Excalibur legend, tying the beginnings to modern day. The writing is solid, the plot intriguing, and the characters true to their ages (meaning at times, I wanted to jump through the pages and shake them since they often make things harder on themselves). Even the editing was good with only minimal typos and grammar errors. If you are a fan of The Mortal Instruments, give this series [...]

    16. A good escape bookIf you like a book that can take you away from reality for a bit, especially in Arthurian flavor, then this is a good choice. Plot and characters were defined, but occasionally it got confusing with the multiple names for each person so I had to go back for reference. It wasn't a read-in-one-sitting book for me, but still one to draw you in for the next installment.

    17. I liked this book a lot. I like how Rhi thought she understood who she was and then found out that nothing was what she thought it was and she had to become this strong fighting person. It was interesting to see her embrace her power and make mistakes, but come back from them stronger. It will be interesting to see where this story goes.

    18. I liked this book a lot. I like how Rhi thought she understood who she was and then found out that nothing was what she thought it was and she had to become this strong fighting person. It was interesting to see her embrace her power and make mistakes, but come back from them stronger. It will be interesting to see where this story goes.

    19. Epic adventure style story in modern day. Avalon, The Green Man, The Lady of the Lake, King Arthur, Morgana, Merlin, and Guinevere are just a few of the mythical magical creatures in the tale. enter the young teen girl who didn't know magic existed and then is trust into the center of an epic battle while still coming of age.

    20. A must readThe only thing wrong with this book was that it ended. I could spend eternity wrapped in its pages. The book is exciting from page one. It never falters from its path. Heather Hamilton-Senter knows her story and her characters, giving them strength when others would falter.

    21. I received this book for free through First Reads.I thought this book was really great! I'm writing this review at 3 am because I HAD to stay up to finish reading this book. Heather Hamilton-Senter has a wonderful writing style and I found the storyline quite captivating. I can't wait until I get a chance to get the next book in this series because I'm dying to read what happens.

    22. Rating: 2.6Okay, so this book is not bad in general. The plot was good, the characters;likable. But, it's so confusing. There's also so much happening;too much drama to the point where it's draining. I'm not even kidding, I'm so tired. So yeah, that's it. I'm gonna go take a nap now.

    23. Old myths new twistsThis book was a bit hard to get onto at the start. I was sucked in by chapter three. I love how various myths where brought onto the book. The different take on the various legends was a nice part of the story. It is hard not to keep wanting to see what happens next and what other beings of legend pop up next.

    24. This book is absolutely wonderful. Rhiannon loses who she thought was her mother, and her world is turned upside down. She struggles with her now motherless life. The magic and fantasy elements in this book are done so well. It leaves you satisfied, yet wanting even more. I highly recommend this book for any paranormal-fantasy lovers.

    25. I wasn't sure I was going to like this book, in fact I thought that I wouldn't. This book pulled me in. Right at the beginning of it I was drawn into the mystery and the plot twisted and changed in many ways I didn't see coming. It was an intriguing book that kept my attention.

    26. GoodThis is a very good book. The characters are strong and it has a great story line. There is action, mystery, magic, friendships, and characters from fairy tales, even legends. Grab a copy and enjoy reading.

    27. Wanted to love it, but something just didn't really match for me. It may be the lack of emotional involvement on my part, or perhaps my state of mind when I were reading it, but still. Very much worth the money. Still its a good book, just didn't do much for me.
