    2. This is a strange book that is probably worth reading if you think it sounds interesting. It's a sort of James Bond style novel set in the time of Henry VIII, mostly in Scotland. The pace is breakneck and the writing style weird. The author, Ross Laidlaw, clearly knows an awful lot of history, but he chooses to write in a contemporary voice which I found rather jarring.
