    1. An excellent second entry.Ringel seems to be finding his voice in the second book, and as a result his characters seem to be finding theirs as well. Looking forward to the third!

    2. No Way to Start a War, the second book in the TCOTU series (This Corner of the Universe) by Britt Ringel is a well thought out military space opera with excellent characters. I enjoyed the first book in the series, but Now Way to Start a War is better.First of all, the conflict between the Hollaran Commonwealth and the Brevic Republic is heating up. Lt. Heskan and his crew face dangerous enemies as they become part of a new mission and learn to handle a larger ship. New and old battle tactics be [...]

    3. I love seeing an author grow and improve as their stories develop. This is especially true for Ringel in this series. The characters are still mostly one dimensional; but they are all more interesting. The action scenes and battle descriptions are where Ringel really shines. This doesn't have the swash-buckling feel of TCotU it also doesn't have the gross errors in physics that the first story had either. Overall I enjoyed the compromise. I am definitely waiting for book three

    4. empire of Italians but not a single Indonesian or Indian or god forbid Arabclose mindedness in sci-fi is a mortal sin,but yet most of the writers are guilty ,so where lies the problem ? most likely in them than my standards but should i stop reading the genre but there is hope friends, there is hope friendsi have encountered in my dabbling in the realm of military space opera a one or two books with some meriterein lies hope

    5. Realistic characters and thoroughly described scenes that made me feel as if I were actually there. Excellently written. Here is a writer that will be giving the big leagues a run for their money ! My new favorite in a series that will have it's place on my shelves. Well done, Mr. Ringel !

    6. Suffers from twist and cliffhanger ending.Above average military SF, but suffers from the un-foreshadowed "deus ex diablo" events at the end and a cliffhanger ending. First book stood alone, but if next book repeats this style I will quit series.

    7. Good book, space battles are explained in detail without pouring tons of information. Simple and yet elegant way to describe the ships and Characters. The characters emotions and development its slow. 4 Stars i really like this new series got my book at amazon. will surely buy the next book
