    1. 4.75/5 StarsWhy I think you should read this book. The reasons I think you should read this book. First off Nina Rowan writes smart, charming and brave woman in her romance novels. Yes, they maybe nineteenth century ladies and virginal, but wilting violet types “need not apply” to be a Rowan character. If you are looking for a historical heroine to connect with then you need to check out Talia, in A Dream of Desire. Why did I connect with Talia, because she is smart and despite having both so [...]

    2. A lovely, sweet, delight of a read, A Dream of Desire was a wonderful historical romance. I really liked this book. From the sweet romance, to the thrills of danger, and a glimpse into the darker side of London, this book was fantastic. Loved it!Talia was a wonderful heroine. She was strong willed, but in a quiet way that showed itself more subtly. I liked how, rather than moping around over a rejection, she picked up her life and made something out of it through her charity works and she was de [...]

    3. In the third book of this series we watch Talia, Alexander’s sister, get her heart broken by the only man she ever loved, James Forester, Baron Castleford, and put back together by the same man, many years later.Damn but there’s so much I liked in this book, I’m not sure where to start! In spite of this being a romance novel, this little gem of a story encompasses a lot of historical detail about reformation of a thanks for jumping to b2b to finish my review okworm2bookworm.wordpressMelan [...]

    4. Actual rating: 4.5 stars “Please, Talia.” James lifted her face so she had to look at him. Self-directed anger darkened his brown eyes. “Don’t give me the gift of your love. I won’t do anything good with it. Save your heart for a man who truly deserves it.”A Dream of Desire is a sweeping historical romance about two caring–yet stubborn–Londoners who are destined to be together.Such wonderfully descriptive and passionate writing here by Nina Rowan! The character’s emotions were [...]

    6. I wanted to read this book after I read the blurb and was really excited to get my hands on it. I will say that I really enjoyed the social aspect of this book and even the relationship between Talia and James. I didn't know this book was part of a series, but it didn't matter too much. I am now interested in reading the other books in this series just because the books seem to be really interesting and fresh.

    7. Thanks to the First Reads giveaway program for a copy of "A Dream of Desire" by Nina Rowan. This is the third novel in the “Daring Hearts” historical romance series. Lady Talia Hall finally musters the courage to confess her feelings of love to James Forester before he ventures out across the ocean on another surveying mission. After sharing a passionate kiss, Talia and James resolve to never speak of the incident, and to resume their platonic relationship upon his return to London. Time pa [...]

    8. I won this in first reads through and I was pleasantly surprised at how well this book was written. I read a lot of drama, and brutal books, so it was nice to slow the pace for a bit with an historical romance. Not exactly fluffy reading but the plot was very good and it held my attention. I read it in one sitting, and this was my first read by this author. Thanks so much for allowing me this read! Overall entertainment is four stars.

    9. I liked this book but not nearly as much as the previous books. I was really looking forward to James and Talia's story. I admired Talia for attempting to not pine away and instead trying to make a life for herself. And I was interested in the reform schools. But when story gets going - it just dragged and I found myself putting the book down to do other things - like laundry. The writing wasn't bad, story wasn't bad, the characters were likable and the secondary characters were good too - sound [...]

    11. I received A Dream of Desire as part of a giveaway.Lady Talia Hall puts her pride (and heart) on the line by confessing her love for James Forester, a lifelong friend of her older brothers. Rebuffed by the restless explorer, Talia throws herself into social justice work, reforming schools and prisons. When James returns a year later, unable to shake the memory of Talia's kiss, he finds her teetering on the edge of scandal and courting danger. As he seeks to protect the woman he's increasingly e [...]

    12. A Dream of Desire by Nina Rowan is a book I won free from . This book is a delightful historical romance with a strong heroine, sexy hero, and a despicable villain. Set in the 1850's, Lady Talia Hall has long loved her childhood friend, James Forester. James however, is a world traveler and not looking for marriage. Broken hearted, Talia devotes her time to saving poor, young boys and enrolling them in her Ragged School. The real fun begins when James returns from his travels and meets Talia aga [...]

    13. I so do love unrequited romances, and in that respect, this one doesn't disappoint. When Lady Talia presents her heart to James only to be rejected, the heart wrenching begins. Though James is a fine hero, he spends way too much time determined to follow his traveling heart rather than give in to the promise of Talia's love. To cope with his persistent rejection, she diverts her energy to charity work, which inadvertently crosses paths with a possessive stalker. Enjoyable storytelling. 3.5 stars [...]

    15. I love this series. I have from the first book. I have been dying to read Talia's story. I liked it but I am not in love with it like I was with the other books in this series. I had really high hopes for this book and for me it fell rather flat. My biggest problem was I did not feel the connection between Talia and James was strong enough. Nina Rowan's writing is beautiful and I love all descriptions but like Talia missing her brothers I was missing them too. In the other stories the family has [...]

    16. This was a fantastic story, I felt that it dragged a little in certain parts of the book.James wavers throughout the book and I found myself grinding my teeth at his absolute male stubbornness. He needs a lesson in wooing, lol.Talia is beautiful, loving and giving. When she gives her heart, it is for forever. It pained me to live along with her the pain of being rejected. It is a fun story and there is much action.A must read!

    17. This is just the type of historical romance I love. Reading about the details of the time period while immersing myself in the story, always has my attention. Loved the characters, and couldn't put the book down until I was done. Now I am anxious to read the next book by Nina Rowan that you get an excerpt for at the end of this one, A Study in Seduction.

    18. I received this book through the First Reads giveaway. The book is well-written, although I found the storyline relatively predictable. It’s your basic romance novel, not deviating much from that pattern.

    19. This was an ok fluff read. I did enjoy the main character Talia but just something in the stoiry felt forced.

    20. Okay, non steamy romance with a bit of mystery, but the first two stories in the series is much better. The secondary characters were more interesting than Talia and James.
