    2. Finally! Years after what was supposed to be the last book, the final Scoundrel gets his book! A boy raised in the gutters, abandoned, taken under the care of a thief, adopted, and now a prestigious doctor, William Graves falls in love with a woman he'll do anything to protect. Readers of the St. James' series will recognize past heroes and heroines. What happens to set this novella's plot in motion is unraveled in William and Winnie's story, and the novella can stand alone. (All you need to kno [...]

    4. I've enjoyed this entire series, and it was fun to see Graves get his HEA. The novella stands alone, but really I recommend the entire series, which is based on Feagin's kids from Oliver Twist, all grown up and respectable. The upcoming series goes into the next generation. I'm looking forward to it.4 Nov 2013 I've loved this series, and even though the book isn't out yet, I'm giving it five stars to counteract the one star given by a person called "troypst," who abuses the rules by rating near [...]

    5. 2.5I wish William Graves got a longer story. That being said, this is the only story that features two people who know each other longer than a few days. The Last Wicked Scoundrel is the last story in this series and it started in the first book.Three years ago William Graves was the one who took care of Winnie after her husband beat her so bad she almost died. Now she is changed, she is stronger and she is not afraid to do or say what she thinks is right. Her self-esteem is back, but something [...]

    9. He wanted to do all the things he shouldn’t. But indulgences came with a price, and he couldn’t in all good conscience ask her to pay it.

    10. I read the book because I wanted to see more of Luke and Catherine. The story itself is ok with one saving grace: Lorraine Heath's writing. This is so often my feeling about Heath's stories: ok story with a lovely way with words. I love her voice in the genre but I don't always love her characters. At least Luke and Catherine appeared sporadically in this story.Last one single in the group, Dr William Graves gets his story with the then abused widow duchess Winnifred Buckland. I didn't much care [...]

    11. The Last Wicked Scoundrel by Lorraine Heath is January 2014 Avon publication. I was provided a copy of this book from the publisher and Edelweiss in exchange for a honest review.Winnie's ball has been a magnificent success. The widow is also walking on air after a kiss from Sir William Graves, her doctor and her friend. Her happiness is short lived, however, because she has been having trouble with misplacing things and could swear she can smell her deceased husband's scent. She is afraid she is [...]

    12. (Nov) It's been a long time since I read the other Scoundrel's of St. James books, so I don't really remember much about what happened in them that led us to this novella. WInnie is a widow, survivor of a horrible marriage to an abusive man. William is a doctor and in love with WInnie ever since he helped her the night of her last beating when her husband almost killed her. William is also the last of Faegen's boys, and I do remember liking him in the other books and wondering why LH never plann [...]

    13. A bit disappointed that William Chase, the last of the Scoundrels of St. James, rated only a novella. I do understand that they've known each other for 3 years, but that was only because Winnie needed Dr. Chase's medical skills, and I was looking forward to a romantic development evolving instead of just suddenly being there. That said, I did enjoy it, but one rather major point in the story kept this from being 5*. Now I'm looking forward to revisiting all the books before I read the stories ab [...]

    15. I finally got to read this book, who would have thought that William Graves would be so charming, sexy, handsome and gentlemanly? Plus he's a great physician Sigh *.* Thank god he got his love story too <3 I enjoyed this story, i absolutely hated that Duke of Avendale ewww he scared me a lot. That medium scene scared the hell out of me. It was so intense!

    16. I loved this conclusion to one of my all-time favourite series. The Scoundrels of St. James series (obviously inspired by Dickens’s Oliver Twist) tells the story of five child thieves Lucian, Jack, Frannie, James and William, all members of Feagan’s merry little band of ne’er-do-wells. Their lives are irrevocably changed when it is discovered that Lucian is the lost heir to the Earl of Claybourne. William was a constant presence throughout the other books and I am so pleased that he finall [...]

    17. Look for this review and more at my blog, Feminist Fairy Tale Reviews.Heath's Scoundrels of St. James series was a wonderful collection of historical romances that were heavily inspired by Oliver Twist. Readers got to see a group of street orphans escape their poverty-stricken lives, be educated, and find love over the course of the series. William Graves (as the summary above says) is the last one to find "true love". He is a character that I always enjoyed reading about and I was depressed whe [...]

    18. A beautiful conclusion to a beautiful series ^^I had my hopes that Winnie would end up with Graves and I'm happy she did, cause she needs some gentleness in her life, and from all the previous books Graves was known of his gentleness.- Liked both characters, Graves for his desire toward Winnie that he held back for almost 3 YEARS! and how he boated her confidence, and of course the unflinching loyalty between the scoundrels/ Fagean's lads XD. Winnie for her determination and backbone. - Loved th [...]

    19. This is one of my favorite series by Lorraine Heath. Often times, after Midnight Pleasures with a Scoundrel, there were glimpses of Graves in Heath's subsequent books but it was also hinted that she had no plans of ever writing his story. So, you can just imagine how Heath's fans are rejoicing to finally get it!This book brings all of Feagan's charges together again and I love how loyal they still are to each other. Since In Bed with a Devil, we saw chemistry between Graves and Winnie and to fin [...]

    20. Loved this conclusion to Heath's Scoundrels series. I'm so glad we got Graves story and I think the novella format fit the story since it all started for Graves and Winnie in book one. In some sense this novella feels like an epilogue for the series since readers were already given a hint that Graves and Winnie would one day get their deserved happily ever after. Due to the connection, I felt The Last Wicked Scoundrelwas a fully fleshed out novella, although I recommend reading the entire series [...]

    21. I'm so glad Dr. William Graves was given his own story. I have liked him from the beginning of the series. Thoroughly enjoyable series. :)

    24. If you're going to write a novella conclusion to a fabulous series, there's a lot to accomplish. It needs to wrap up any remaining the story lines of the series. It needs to tell the MCs stories in a way that you don't feel you're missing giant gaping holes of detail. It also needs to revisit some of the previous characters from the series, or at least have them make a cameo appearance. And it all needs to be done in a short story. It needs to be this book! I was rather bummed when I learned tha [...]

    25. I spoiled this last book a bit for myself by reading Whit's POV first, to be honest he adds to much to this story I kept going through it and wondering if I'd skipped a chapter by mistake. Our b-story from book 1 has finally returned for her happy ending, after suffering at the hands of her abusive husband, Winnie is finally free (or so she believes). She's flirting with the oh so capable William Graves (physician to the queen herself), her son is thriving but she's haunted by reminders of her p [...]

    26. The title says it all: this is the story of the last remaining Scoundrel of St. James. Dr. William Graves rose from the gutters to become one of the Queen's most trusted physicians. He has devoted his life to the practice of medicine and to seeing to the welfare of all his patients. His methods are revolutionary, but, in one such case, William crossed the line and, instead of protecting life, he was complicit in the taking of one.The first time William met Winifred Buckland, the Duchess of Avend [...]

    27. Winnie, the Duchess of Avendale, is a widow and thanks her blessings every day for that. Her late husband was abusive and brutal and cruel to her. The day he died was fortune for her, since he almost killed her the last time he was alive. It has been three peaceful years, being able to raise her son, even knowing the name he would bear would be Avendale. The one man she cares about more than anything, who has treated her with gentleness and care is William Graves. William is a Doctor, but he gre [...]

    28. This novella was just what I needed to break me out of my reading slump. It hooked me from the very beginning and I didn’t put it down until it was over. It’s the last story in the Scoundrels of St James series, and even though I didn’t read the earlier installments, I was able to jump right in without feeling the lack.Winnie, the Duchess of Avendale, is only starting to reclaim her life three years after the death of her husband. The duke was a horrible man, beating her and making her fee [...]
