    1. The storyline and action scenes are catchy, but I still cannot connect to the characters and there are many questions left unanswered: how does the compelling work, how is it possible that a vampire can infect someone with its blood for curing and that someone doesn't get transformed, and thus, how does one get transformed, etc.Nevertheless, I'm anxious to see what comes next, so I'm definitely reading the next one.P.Sill wondering why Bella was limping when arriving in the camp (view spoiler)[a [...]

    2. I was given these books in exchange for an honest review (Lop or Lovers of Paranormal). I liked the idea of a new breed of vampires and the council concept which made for an intriguing read. I felt both concepts were original, kudos to the writer for giving ‘vamps’ a new spin. I wished Liana’s character played a bigger part in the “Victory that Counts,” not just as a strategist but in actual combat. I think Hess and Radu stood out and will carry the series. The characters stayed true t [...]

    3. A Victory that Counts a fost o lectura uimitoare.

    4. The author provided me a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.“A Victory That Counts” by Ioana Visan is the second installment of “The Impaler Legacy” series. It is every bit as enthralling and suspenseful as the first installment, “The Impaler’s Revenge”. I expect installment #3, “Order Restored”, to continue in that vein… no pun intended. I have had the privilege of reviewing three previous books by this extremely talented author, Ioana Visan. “Human In [...]

    5. Liana has traveled to New Zealand with her pandurs accompanied by Maximilien and his vampires. She is still not comfortable with the vampires but knows she and her pandurs need them to bring down the new breed vampires coming out of New Zealand in Ioana Visan’s A VICTORY THAT COUNTS, book 2 of The Impaler’s Legacy. Unfortunately someone wants them all out of the way but wants Liana alive. Who is it? What do they want? The Impaler’s Legacy must be read in order. Each book picks up the story [...]

    6. I was really excited when Ioana Visan told me that her new novella was out, because I couldn't wait to discover what happened with Liana and my dear vampire Max. He grew on me and I kind of have a crush on him. Who wouldn't like a strong, funny and gorgeous vampire? Twilight is to blame. :))Now let's begin. An army formed of vampires and pandurs (humans trained to kill vampires) travel to New Zealand in order to stop an enormous group of new-born vampires to damage the world that they all lived [...]

    7. Review forthcoming on a-reader-lives-a-thousand-liveI received a copy of A Victory That Counts from the author.Having discovered the existence of the New Breed Vampires, Liana has gone to New Zealand in order to try and destroy them. Refusing to stay behind in Romania, Jesse has gone with her. As soon as Liana and vampire, Max, get a lead, they make a trip into town, but as soon as they do, there is an attack on base camp which decimates the numbers of the Pandurs and the Vampires. But it also h [...]

    8. Liana leads a group of pandurs to New Zealand to investigate the threat of a new breed of vampire. Regular vampires are threatened by this new presence and join forces with the pandurs to stop this new breed from carrying out their evil plan. They are amassing an army, geared toward a dark purpose.Liana is a strong female lead. She doesn’t need someone to protect her, even though she is constantly followed by bodyguards at the insistence of those around her. She teams up with Max, a thousand y [...]

    9. The first novella ended in quite a tense situation, which continues throughout this one. In this second installment of the series, time has jumped forward a bit. After learning in the previous novel that there is a new breed of vampires, which even makes the older race of vampires feel threatened, Romania, once the worlds only vampire-free country has striken a deal with this older race, to join arms against the new threat. For this cause, Liana, our female leadcharacter is sent out to New Zeala [...]

    10. The first book was a treat and I was looking forward to continuing with the series, but after reading A Victory that Counts my view has changed a bit. Now, I am definitely completely vested in the unique story and characters 100% and then some. Book #2 has complimented the first in the series and is even better.Liana continues in this installment heading the Little Council’s mission to infiltrate the new breed of vampires. This time the vampires and pandurs, learning to work together, travel t [...]

    11. A Victory that Counts (The Impaler Legacy, #2)by Ioana VisanPublished 2013The Little Council of Romania is waging war against a new vampire breed. The story takes us to New Zealand, where things get very gory. The female lead, Liana, has developed a very benign relationship with another character, Dr. Jesse, while her relationship with the arresting, and very quiet, Maximilien Hess has taken the backseat. I love the parallel worlds in this series, where humans coexist with vampires. And I love t [...]

    12. I got this book from the author, free of cost, in exchange of an honest review from my side.Firstly I would like to thank Ioana Visan, author of A Victory that Counts, for giving me this opportunity of reading and reviewing this book.Well, I liked it more than book 1 and I'm really happy so witness the noticeable development in Liana's character and the other characters also flourish in this book making it even more intriguing than the first one.Hess was again a treat to read about and I loved t [...]

    13. Back in December 2013, I was given the book "Impaler's Revenge" by Ioana Visan. Which I read, and reviewed via RI & R on . Problem was ended with such a cliffhanger I was left with my mouth hanging open and saying "WTH?!? It can't end like that""A Victory That Counts" is book 2 in this series, and yet again, Ms.Visan has managed to work her magic through to make me long for 2.5, the next mini book in the series. Between Liana and Jesse's relationship, the new breeds with their threat, Max an [...]

    14. I got through this one pretty quickly, There was something constantly going on which was great cause it kept my A.D.D in check. With the war going on between the new breeds versus the regular vamps and the little council and the changes in Liana as she is put into different positions it really made for some great reading. It definitley shows how when put into situations that you never thought you would be in how you would react or change to fit that situation. So far I will definitley reccommend [...]

    15. **I received this book in exchange for an honest review. LoP, Lovers of Paranormal**I thoroughly enjoyed reading this novella. I loved how the story played out. The battle scenes were very good. I like the idea of 'new-breed' vampires. For me they were comparable to zombies, but better. I liked how the characters worked well with each other. They were all great. Well written. I look forward to reading more in this series. A great add to your tbr list.

    16. After reading book 1.5, Sweet Surrender, I was left wanting to know more about Liana and Jesse. What can I say? I'm a romantic at heart. It touched on them some and how they'd fallen into a relationship, but I really wanted more! This book was more about solving the problem, and Liana has such low hopes of them beating the new breed it kind of made me depressed.

    17. This is one of those books that if it weren't for , I might not ever have come across. They are short, quick reads, but boy do they pack a punch. I like the fact that between books 1 and 2, there were .5 books as well.

    18. The second of the Impaler Legacy trilogy of novellas takes Liana, Jesse, Max and Radu to New Zealand where they head up an unprecedented alliance of pandurs and vampires assembled to defeat the threat posed by the dangerous new breed of vampires that continues to spread. But the enemy is more than one step ahead, and while Liana and her companions scramble to gather helpful intelligence, a devastating mass attack diminishes her troops, making a victory look ever more unlikely.Ioana Visan doesn't [...]

    19. This novel, second in the series, follows Liana's exploits amid an inter-species war. Once enemies, the vampires and the pandurs (fierce human fighters) now have joined forces against a common threat: a new breed of vampire out for blood.I've read enough vampire books to know what to expect when I come across one in a book. Even so, I would like to have seen a clearer depiction of these vampires, or perhaps a new twist on the vampire theme. Likewise for the pandurs.I know this is the second book [...]

    20. I just really enjoy this author's style and stories. I so look forward to enjoying more in this series and starting on some of her other works.
