    1. 3.5 starsI bought this because of how much I enjoyed Kylie Chan's Dark Heaven's trilogy. Reading the description, I thought this might be a novel (more like novella, its kinda thin) that could take place at any point in the series of books, maybe before them like Small Shen, but it doesn't. Taking place at some point after Blue Dragon, there are spoilers about halfway through. Which is irratating, because I have purposly NOT read book descriptions/reviews so I wouldn't get spoiled. *grr* Other t [...]

    2. If you came upon this novella and thought that you could read it without reading the others - you actually could. This novella shows a far different world than Kylie Chans' first books do. However, the characters and action in this novella will go far in filling in gaps in the original series. This is the perfect book for the series aficionados.Because this novella is way shorter than Ms Chans' normal, sometimes overly detailed books, it was a pleasure to read. The characters had enough detail a [...]

    3. A short story that sits between two trilogies but has the world from a different perspective. The story is told through the eyes of a low power demon and her fight for free will. The characters that Kylie puts into her normal stories make a cameo appearance like Stan Lee in Spiderman but it is really narrowly focused on the main character. Kylie continues to add her fun kung fu action scenes and well rounded characters in this novella to make an enjoyable book.

    4. Read this before reading any of her other works. I've heard there are spoilers in it, but that doesn't concern me. I love the concept and the story. However, the writing lacks something. It can be juvenile at times. The uniqueness of the concept and the story keeps it going and makes the read enjoyable.

    5. An excellent addition to the Kylie Chan series. It gives wonderful insight into the world below but I would worn readers to not read it before the first three books as there are spoilers in it as far as I am concerned. it is even better read after the first 6 books in the series.

    6. Even though its a short story, its a good read, from another point of view from the rest of the main books.

    7. More stars for honest jackets.Good story, probably 4 stars. But it's not a standalone with no spoilers. Don't believe it. Not sure where it fits though.

    8. That was the quickest read I have had of a Kylie Chan Book yet. It was very compelling and made me not want to put the book down

    9. It was nice to see how the other side acts and what goes on. Also I liked seeing the Tiger in a more vulnerable state rather than the brash exterior we normally see.
