    1. I loved the idea and the hard work which is evident in every page but the lay out was really disturbing That's why i'm not giving it 5 starsI's a very unique and ambitious project with amazing highy quility photos of truly worthy site specific art all over America, Mexico and Canada.Beautiful buildings, important monuments, theaters, parks, museums, institutes of arts and even university campusesAll in so crisp colors and magnificent detailsThis book is a great example of architectural, landscap [...]

    2. This is an amazing collection of art! I'm especially pleased to learn more about South and Central American art, which I knew very little about. Well worth checking out from library (though I think I actually want a copy of my own, this is so interesting and inspiring!)

    3. ambitious and worthy representationFrom Brazil to Central America, Mexico to the United States and through to Canada, from Andy Goldsworthy pieces to George Segal's Gardens. Be it endangered Richard Serra's Shift in a private field outside Toronto to Walter DeMaria's work, The Broken Kilometer, Soho, or the murals of Mexican artist, Jose Clement Orozco and of course Diego Rivera, amazing works are captured. The commonality is how these installations at once impose and merge with their landscape.T [...]

    4. ARC provided by NetGalleyOne of my favorite aspects of art, has always been art that worked with the place that it's in, such as the work of Andy Goldsworthy who creates ephemeral works that emphasize the beauty of the surrounding areas. And that to me is the best part of that type of art. You can't move it just anywhere else and expect it to have the same impact, its been designed for that area, that place and it's become a part of it and enhances it. And that's what this book collects, some of [...]

    5. Another great art book about site- specific art of the Americas. It includes a picture of Robert Smithson's "Spiral Jetty" on the cover. It takes the reader and art lover through the Americas starting with the art of the Haida Culture from British Columbia all the way south to Patagonia for a look at drawings on rocks from the late Pleistocene/early Holocene Period. The last chapter includes a dozen "Ephemeral and Destroyed Works" including "Surrounded Islands" by Christo and Jeanne-Claude. Ther [...]

    6. This lush collection features over 500 pieces of site specific works of art from over fifteen countries across the Americas. Site specific refers to pieces of art which are either a part of or very reflective of their physical locations. After a brief introduction there is a compelling section of quotes that artists have made about some of their works featured in the book. The works are well organized and indexed by country.Landmarks vary from state parks to buildings and sculptures. Houston boa [...]
