    1. 4 FRESHY STARS!Before I start the review I must say that I don't like the cover. At all.I think the mountains are appropriate because a good part of the book takes place there but the rest it's so random, and this book is so much better than this cover.Like literally!Okay was a short book. That is my main problem with this book. The shortness. It is a fantastic novel,so beautifully written, such a unique story with an awesome background and cool and fun to read characters, but it was too short.I couldn [...]

    2. Although I love many books, give many four and five star reviews, it is rare that a book seems to physically move me. From start to finish, “Ouray's Peak” by Leigh Podgorski was a book which wrapped me up in the story. I could feel what the characters were feeling, see what they were seeing, and hear what they were saying. The story touches me. Although I am not Ute, I have a strong Native American lineage, and I know well many of the things done to the people- of varying tribes. The story c [...]

    3. Original review can be found at kristineandterri/23.5 starsI received a copy of this book through a giveaway in exchange for an honest review. With such a detailed synopsis I don't feel the need to re-tell the story. I will say that I liked the story but I was left wishing for a little more. The book is not long and it follows Kristin from 14 to 19 years so I felt like some of the really important and interesting aspects were glossed over. I wanted more details and story particularly when it cam [...]

    4. One of the most intensely emotional novels I've had the pleasure of reading in 2014 is "Ouray's Peak" by Leigh Podgorski that begins in New England with a rupture in the Tabor family after the death of their matriarch Christiana. After receiving her inheritance, a w’ni thokunup- an ancient Ute musical instrument- and promising her mother that she'll rediscover her Ute roots and develop her healing power Christine feels torn knowing her husband is struggling to make his dream a reality. As the [...]

    5. Ouray’s Peak, by Leigh Podgorski, is a well written gripping novel taking the reader on a journey of adventure, injustices and nostalgia; a journey into the phenomenological world of a girl called Kristin, and her ancestral North American Indian tribe. This journey begins with a young strong-minded girl. As she progresses into adulthood the past, present and future merge and with the pieces of the puzzle all falling into place her life now takes on a new meaning. Leigh Podgorski’s attention [...]
