    1. A wonderful sweet contemporary romance I thoroughly enjoyed. The ending wonderfully crafted to leave you in a haze of perfect romance. The characters strong each with their own rich personalities that gives the story credibility in the realities of life and marriage in particular. We meet Lizzie an accomplished writer so busy with her career that she did not recognized the signs of an indifferent husband. When he simply left one day she was shocked back into reality and after three months being s [...]

    2. Every now and then a contemporary romance story comes along that not only whisks the reader away with a tale of passion and love, but also depicts the reality of issues within a relationship or marriage. In Going After The Heart, author Kristen Beairsto weaves a wonderful tale that mixes enough romance, humor and emotions that will keep the reader engaged and eagerly turning the pages.Lizzy and Gavin Bergstrum have been together for fifteen years, with ten of the years as a married couple. As in [...]

    3. This was not my typical read. I mean, I am sure plenty of people like books about collapsed relationships and them being put back together, but it's not typically my thing. Too many years ago to count, it seemed like every other book that I saw was about a feuding couple and how they were about ready to divorce and them fixing the relationship. I think I was burnt out on them, or maybe just burnt out of the drama laden story lines with the characters doing pages and pages of soul searching monol [...]

    4. Priorities in life are the core of this novel, Going After the Heart. It's something we can all relate to--the balance between career, relationships and self. Busy author, Lizzy Bergstrum, faces the harsh reality that her priorities are indeed out of whack when her husband takes off to "clear his head" and leaves her with a sassy little girl and a lot of regret. But is there hope for their marriage? Can they repair the damage done by neglect and miscommunicationor non communication as the case m [...]

    5. This book starts out with Lizzy pulling into the drive of her husband’s family ranch. She followed him after he has been gone for 3 months. He left to think over the state of their marriage. He feels that Lizzy is giving to much to her career and doesn’t know he exists anymore. Their 8 year old daughter blames Lizzy for her daddy leaving and is being a total brat to her mother. Lets just say that Gavin wasn’t to happy to have his “thinking time” interrupted.I love the fact that this bo [...]

    6. Kristen pens "Going After the Heart" in a plot that is well written, emotional and believable. Her characters are strong, believable, relate-able and have great interaction with one another. A nice contemporary romance story line that kept me interesting from the beginning to end. A must read for all contemporary romance fans. This review is based on a complimentary copy from the author which was provided for an honest review.

    7. I'm a huge fan of all romance genres--but this one felt too predictable and a little boring. It was disappointing. There are many other books out there that are worth your time. I also got confused at all the head popping between characters in the same scene--and I read A LOT. Maybe a good editor would have helped? I don't know. Sorry, but this fell flat.

    8. 3.5/5.0A realistically drawn story about two people who have allowed life to jeopardize their love, but who are fighting for what they want.Full review in March 2013 issue of InD'tale Magazine.
