    1. Criminal trial lawyer Mark Roesch is a big guy who uses body building as a way to relieve stress. After a weekend hunting trip he heads to the airport to pick up his wife and daughter and dwells on the arguments that have been typical lately, trying to figure out a way to get his marriage back on track. As he’s waiting for their flight to come in though, disaster strikes. Some faceless enemy has detonated an EMP and the planes that were in the air are now powerless, falling to Earth. All elect [...]

    2. I wanted this book to be longer. The characters are some I really wanted to explore more. The situation Brackett has created between this and his other Half Past Midnight series books is great. I just plain want more.

    3. If you've read Half Past Midnight, then one of the main characters in this book should be familiar to you. This is the story about how Mark (Leeland's quiet, muscled forge apprentice) ended up in the town of Rejas. We also meet a lady by the name of Kenni who is returning home from the Marine Corps, bringing someone special with her for her family to meet. Both Mark and Kenni bond over their shared tragedy on the day they meet, and they end up journeying together for awhile. I really liked Kenni [...]

    4. The Road to Rejas by Jeff Brackett and Narrated by one of my new favorite Narrators Corey Snow, is a short story about Mark Roesch a Character from previously reviewed Half Past Midnight. This story takes place prior to the book Half Past Midnight and is a back story for how Mark Roesch made his way to Rejas, Texas where we find him in Half Past Midnight. Everyone has a  story of their "D-day" experience when Nuclear Bombs wiped out cities and the EMP Blast took out the power grids. This is [...]

    5. Sort of a prequel to "Half Past Midnight", but not necessarily to be read first. This book focuses on character Mark Roesch who plays a large role in "HPM". The story gives the background on Mark and the time period before he finds his way to Rejas. A short 2.5 hour tale, but interesting all the same after listening to "HPM".
