    1. Three and a half stars.I found this an enjoyable read. It was an interesting concept having four well renowned authors writing the one book and each taking the point of views of one of the four characters, Mattie, Navy, Connie and Brooke. I loved the detail of how Navy got her name. The book gives us four interesting women and a look at the changes in society and relationships over time. For those who remember the 1960s, it is interesting to see how things have changed. It brought back memories o [...]

    2. Firstly, I won't rate a book I've co-authored based on technicalities and craftsmanship, so I'll rate it on fun. The enjoyment we had was 5-star.Basically, I had an idea to write a collaborated novel for the Aussie Christian fiction market and asked three friends, who were happy to come on board. Rather than separating the book into four novella-sized chunks, we choose to take it chapter by chapter, weaving our characters' voices all through, which meant lots of emails. We are two contemporary a [...]

    3. I really enjoyed reading The Greenfield Legacy. Set in the picturesque wine region near Adelaide, the story looks at the emotional fallout created as a consequence of decisions made nearly half a century earlier. The Greenfield Legacy explores the complex and fractured relationships between the four main characters. An ensemble story, the plot threads for each of the main characters revolve around a central minor character who is a catalyst for change in all their lives.Maddie, Connie, Brooke and [...]

    4. An intriguing read following four women of three generations with tragedy, romance, conflict and adventure. Some interesting twists. I like the way the book explored the emotional issues surrounding adoption from the perspective of the relinquishing mum and the adopted daughter. I was a bit disappointed that the adoptive family (though presented as loving) were written out of the story very early on. Having one "biological" child and one adopted child - and my love for each of them and their lov [...]

    5. From our CALEB reviewers:(1)Four authors but one story sounds like a recipe for literary disaster. However, The Greenfield Legacy, a novel written by four of Australia’s leading Christian fiction writers, proved to be a pleasant surprise. Meredith Resce, Paula Vince, Amanda Deed and Rose Dee combine to produce a very readable book. Maybe the storyline has been a little overdone in recent times. Young boy meets young girl - girl become pregnant - young man dies in Vietnam war and mum and dad do [...]

    6. Four of Australia's Christian authors come together to tell the story of a family - spanning three generations. A legacy has been passed down through the Greenfield family - and not a very good one. It is a legacy of judgementalism and refusal to understand the feelings of others. When a long-lost member of this family re-appears she brings a new hope to the four protagonists of the story. Slowly, a new legacy is built - one of hope. Each author in this collaboration wrote the point of a view of [...]

    7. The idea of four authors penning a book together seems fraught with conflict. However, after attending the launch at a conference in 2012 and hearing the authors speak about the process, I was impressed. The authors seemed to work in synergy despite being in various locations around Australia and with quite different styles of writing. The fact that each author took on a different character meant each had a unique voice. As I read at least one of each of the authors' books previously, it was fun [...]

    8. So hard to decide about this. On the one hand, five stars for characterisation. On the other hand, one star for plot. This is such a character-driven story with so many pauses as various elements of backstory are filled in that the plot is minimal. Instead of a natural rise and fall in the tension, this produces a curious flatness in both suspense and conflict. The crisis, when it comes, does not feature the people who seem - at the beginning - to be most prominent. The pace for the most part is s [...]

    9. The Greenfield Legacy is a must read book. I found it amazing that four different authors had written it and yet the book moved so seamlessly from chapter to chapter. The book uncovers a lot of vitally important issues - like the problems adoption brings with it and how a family's heartache or difficulties are often carried over from one generation to the next. Meredith Resce, Paula Vince, Rose Dee and Amanda Deed have done a great job and I look forward to reading their next collaboration.

    10. Great collaboration from four great Aussie writers. Lots of romance, drama and great characters. ne

    11. Thanks to Rose Dee for my copy of this book.I did enjoy this book and found it interesting with 4 different main characters that are all from the one family. We have Mattie the Matriarch of the family and we find out in Chapter one she gave up a child for adoption. The story then revolves round this issue and how it affected the various members. We have Connie who is Mattie's Daughter and Brooke her daughter. We also meet Navy Who is also related. Each character is written by a different author [...]

    12. This is an unusual book for two reasons. It has been written by four authors, and it has four main characters. Each character is written by one of the authors, and the four stories are brought together in a skilful way. The story is clever, and clearly shows the impact one foolish decision can have on future generations. A harsh, judgemental father triggers turmoil that disrupts the lives of four women and their families. The story reveals the hardship and bitterness than can occur as a result o [...]

    13. The Greenfield Legacy, is a wonderfully interwoven story of four women who are each battling feelings of rejection and unworthiness. When Mattie has a baby out of wedlock and is then forced to give up her baby for adoption she shuts herself off from the world. The consequences of her choices are more far reaching than she can imagine. When she is reunited with her daughter, almost 50 years after she had given her up Mattie begins to realise that she has a lot of soul searching to do and forgiven [...]

    14. The Greenfield Legacy is the fictional account of four women who were all impacted by the decision, made by one of them, to give up a baby for adoption. This decision haunts each of them in different ways, sometimes unknowingly. Each woman's point of view is written by a different author: Meredith Resce, Paula Vince, Amanda Deed and Rose Dee. I thought this might make the story disjoined but it doesn’t. The story flows so well, I would never have guessed it had four authors. The story explores s [...]

    15. A hard religious father makes a decision that his 17 year old daughter can not accept. She hardens her heart in order not to feel the rejection. That decision seriously impacts the lives of many others, this is the story of 5 of those people 40 years later. I didn't realize that this book was about adoption but once I made it through the difficult first couple of chapters I thoroughly enjoyed the story. Not being Australian there were a couple of references that I didn't recognize but nothing th [...]

    16. While I generally enjoy each of these authors' work, I was left disapointed by The Greenfield Legacy. It is written in a seamless and flowing way that makes it difficult to work out which author wrote each part. However, overall the characters lacked depth. I wasn't drawn in or inspired by any of those portrayed and the story seemed to lack emotion in general.Sorry, but it isn't one of my favourite reads for 2012.

    17. I enjoyed reading this book, it drew me in and I wanted to finish it to find out what happened. I haven't read books by any of the authors yet, I couldn't work out who wrote which part. There were a number of twists that I didn't see coming, while there were some bits that I figured would happen. I'm looking forward to reading more books by these authors.

    18. As I am one of the authors, what can I say. I loved it. I loved being part of writing it, and loved the fact that it was a collaborative effort that flowed so well, considering there were four people telling the one story.

    19. Title: The Greenfield Legacy (A Novel)Authors: Meredith Resce, Amanda Deed, Paula Vince, Rose DeePages: 258Year: 2012Publisher: Even Before PublishingMy rating is 4 stars out of 5.What a roller coaster of emotions as the plot thickens around a family torn apart at one time by bitterness and fear. By the end of the novel the brilliance of weaving such a captivating and heart rending novel was just amazing. It starts with a father denying his daughter, Mattie, marriage to a man she loves as he env [...]

    20. Meredith Resce, Paula Vince, Amanda Deed and Rose Dee’s novel The Greenfield Legacy is a wonderful family drama that will warm your heart, giving you mixed emotions about each of the characters, allowing you to grow alongside them, as well as helping you appreciate your own family. I must admit that at the beginning, my expectations weren’t that high. However upon finishing the novel, I was pleasantly surprised. I believe that the aspect of having the four women tell the story was a good ide [...]

    21. What an interesting novel! I was fascinated by the premise that it was one story about four women and written by four authors! I enjoyed that it was written by Australian authors and took place in South Australia in the McLaren Vale wine region, which I had never heard of before! Initially I had a hard time remembering who was who but I enjoyed getting to know each woman through her eyes and then through the eyes of others.Mattie, or Matilda, is the matriarch. Many years earlier she had fallen i [...]

    22. The Greenfield Legacy*** by Meredith Resce, Paula Vince, Amanda Deed and Rose DeeThe Greenfield Legacy is about four different women—Mattie, Navy, Brooke and Connie—their life experiences and how they have impacted the other women over the span of many years. Each of the four main characters are written by one of the four authors. A harsh decision made by the strict father of a young, unmarried pregnant girl sets the stage for heartache, bitterness, unforgiveness, grief and loss that carry o [...]

    23. I finished reading The Greenfield Legacy by Rose Dee and other authors. What a terrific book. Not only did it teach me about a part of history that I was unfamiliar with, but was told in such a gripping way that I didn’t want to put it down. I quickly fell in love with Mattie, Connie, Brooke, and Navy, each for their own unique personalities while seeing the similarities they all shared and the ties that held them so tightly together. It wasn’t just a book about romance. It was a book about [...]

    24. A complex plot of four generations, The Greenfield Legacy is poignant and profound. From the oldest generation to the youngest, relationships are stress filled and disconnected. The plot is praiseworthy, and characters are authentic. I could relate to some of the difficult issues broached in this complicated story.I had a very difficult time following the multiplicity of characters and the different time frames as the story moved from one character to another and one time frame to another It was [...]

    25. "The Greenfield Legacy," written by four authors, (Meredith Resce, Paula Vince, Amanda Deed and Rose Dee) is a smooth flowing romance, with some suspense mixed in. The story involves four woman, with each character written by a different author. I think it is a neat way to put a book together. The story involves three generation of women and eventually explains how they are all connected. The main theme throughout the book is forgiveness. These gals need to understand and learn how to forgive and [...]

    26. The Greenfield Legacy, a novel of the release of a generational curse of resentment and bitterness, is the story of four women and the impact of one dreadful decision on all of their lives. The story flows well and is not disjointed despite the collaboration of four authors on the writing of the book, each writing about one of the women. The novel is a blend of tragic decisions, romance and suspense that culminates in a poignant conclusion addressing devotion, commitment, and the question of wha [...]

    27. This is a thoughtful look at family relationships. There is quite a list of characters to keep track of in this book. The main ones were very well developed. To some extent certain personality traits seemed to keep showing up after the initial couple was introduced.Mattie made a huge mistake as a young adult. The whole story is about that one mistake and how her relationship with her father was affected by it. The rest is simply a cascading effect that comes back around as the complete consequenc [...]

    28. An amazing story written by four very talented Australian authors; Meredith Resce, Amanda Deed, Paula Vince and Rose Dee. Each one writing about one of the four main characters in The Greenfield Legacy. Rose Dee is the only author I have read before. Love all of her books. The collaboration of the four authors is flawless in weaving the characters and story together. A great read. Loved it. Looking forward to reading more books by these authors. When Mattie was a young girl she made a decision th [...]

    29. “The Greenfield Legacy” is the story of the women in one family who have been affected their entire lives by one decision made in the past. When mother Mattie brings them all together to somehow reveal the whole truth, response is not quite what she expected. That one decision caused ripple effects in the lives of her daughters and their families that could continue to create havoc if not stopped. At times, this book was difficult to read and I also had difficulty relating to many of the char [...]
