    1. I picked this up because I was interested in the history side of the book. I was quickly surprised by the story arc after a few pages. The story is written in first person narrative which really adds to the book. It would have seemed lacking if it had been written in third person. It reads easy and despite that it is a historical fiction it is really a love story. The characters are believable and engaging.
