    1. Normally I avoid any kind of scary stories, but I took a chance and was very happy that I did. Morris combines folk lore, history and a bit of science into this story. All combined it was a great story and I loved the book. I finished reading the book while on a cruise to Canada. The winds in the St Lawrence Seaway were howling past the ship providing the ultimate sound effects.
