    1. I hardly know what to say about this book. I haven't read anything else quite like it. What I do know is that after having read this and Ennobling Love: In Search of a Lost Sensibility, I need to read everything else that Jaeger has written as well. There were times in this book when I felt I wasn't quite grasping the point Jaeger was making, but there were many many more times when I felt Jaeger was writing about my own life and pursuits.     2. A book full of beautiful ideas. A thought- provoking exploration of charisma in art and of the power of such art to transform and educate. I found I had to really concentrate to read this book as it is sometimes hard going. There is a little too much technical language. It also feels more like a series of personal essays than a single argument.
