    1. When Natalie ask for someone to give a review I wasn´t thinking much of it. Said yes, put it to the side for a while, read a couple of other books to review. Now that I just finished the book I can only say; Why did I wait? It got me from the beggining, as I said don´t read this at work I took this from another review, it says enough:"Hancock was very descriptive in her writing, painting a picture of the setting and also providing well developed characters. Although we learn a lot about them, [...]

    2. Wow. Thank you Natalie, for this opportunity to read such a captivating book! Perfect mix of fantasy/paranormal setting with a dash of Steamy Erotica. Great description of characters and setting. Easy read and leaves you wanting to start the next book straight away. Definitely recommending to friends and family.

    3. ETERNAL DARKNESS (Cursed in Darkness #1) by Natalie HancockABOUT THE BOOK; Layla, a twenty-one-year-old half-breed known as a dhampir, is incredibly beautiful and deadly. She drinks vampire blood for power and to stop the burning hunger. The vampire academy is a hundred acres of land surrounded by high tech security to ensure that none enter or leave. She is the protection. When she has lessons with the vampires, she struggles with her hunger and has to learn to trust them—a big issue for Layla [...]

    4. Here’s the deal, I was super excited to read this book. Unfortunately, circumstances did not allow me to read it as soon as I wanted to, and it kept being put off. I heard it was a lot like the Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead, and since I adored those books, I thought Eternal Darkness would be right up my alley. I was sorely mistaken. Let me start with what I did like. I thought Ms. Hancock did an amazing job describing her fight scenes. It is rare for me to be able to read a fight sce [...]

    5. So I have absolutely no idea where to start with this review my mind is a jumbled mess. It's like author Natalie Hancock gnawed, uh, chewed on my mind and spat it out. (I know, gross way of describing it, but that's all my blond brain can think of right now.)Ok, so lets start with the cover aaaand cue the "OMG's OOOH's AAAAH's"! I can stare at that cover all day long. So purrrdy! Eternal Darkness is similar to Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead (don't get me wrong - I'm NOT comparing books) if you [...]

    6. Thank you to the author for providing an ecopy of this bookCover: It's fineLayla:When I was reading the story, I got the feeling that Layla was somehow a very soft person But she was very good in fighting, hand to hand or with weapons and she was also very patientAnd I have this nagging feeling that she and Nikalye have a very close but different relationship It's like they're brothers and sisters but at the same time they are more than thatShade:At first I thought he was someone who did not rea [...]

    7. Under the cover of darkness, a vampire academy is hidden from human knowledge. Here the vampires train to fight the enemy and learn of their heritage. For Layla, the time has finally come to expose herself to others of her kind who are unaware of what she really is. It is a sensitive time to not only test her willpower, but the consequences surrounding her unnatural existence. However, lust for vampire blood isn’t the only kind of lust she battles and before long the temptation is much too gre [...]

    8. I received this book to give an honest review. The story started off hot and sexy. And it finished off with an oh wow factor. The 2 reasons it is not getting a solid 5 is because even though the author told me there were mistakes and structure issues. The problem I had was missing some of the text in the start of a new chapter and sometimes a new page. And the fact that there seemed to be a really good back story with Layla and I wanted more. I can only hope that her story truly comes out within [...]

    9. I wanted to enjoy this book, and the synopsis made it sound really good, so I was really disappointed from the start. First off, I found it very confusing. This is book 1 in the series, but even by the end of the book, I felt like I was reading the second book along and had missed the first part, there was so much going on that wasn’t explained. I understand an air of mystery wanting to be created but there is usually some explanation in the first book of a series and I felt there was none in [...]

    10. Layla is incredibly stunning and equally deadly. She is a skilled fighter but more important than that she is also a dhampir, a half breed vampire who feeds on vampires blood to quench both her thirst for blood and power. This may cause problems for her since she now resides at the vampire academy to escape her past and train with other vampires. So now she has to be more in control than ever which may not be so easy when she meets a sexy vampire named Shade whose stare sends chills up her spine [...]

    11. Eternal Darkness is the first book in Natalie Hancock's Cursed in Darkness series and introduces us to Layla, our heroine, who is a Dhampir, or half-breed, and her love interest Shade, who is dark, mysterious, and gorgeous with his striking silver eyes. Bring it on!The book revolves around the Vampire Training Academy where all teenage vampires are sent to learn how to survive in a world where they are hated and hunted constantly. Layla has been sent to the Academy with her personal guard, Nikal [...]

    13. I just finished the first book in her Cursed in Darkness series which is Eternal Darkness. The story is set at a vampire academy where the students learn skills needed to outwit and defend against humans bent on destroying them. The main character, Layla, a twenty-one-year-old half-breed known as a dhampir, is incredibly beautiful and deadly. She drinks vampire blood for power and to stop the burning hunger (per the books synopsis) is hiding out a the academy and is hiding a multitude of secrets [...]

    14. I really enjoyed the story Eternal Darkness but was frustrated by the lack of variety in the vocabulary at some points. I'm sure there must be alternate ways to "growl" at someone and if the heroine continues to "tilt her head" so often I'm sure it will fall off! Having got that off my chest, I have to admit that I was drawn into Layla's world and loved the fight/training scenes and the heated moments between Layla and Shade were quite HOT (read raunchy!) Although I found the "how vampires came [...]

    15. I came away from reading this book slightly perplexed. The prologue seemed a little out of place to me and I find myself hoping that it will all be revealed in the series, preferably sooner than later. The end was one heck of a cliff-hanger! It has me definitely wanting to read the next book in the series. I ended this having more questions than answers, but it is not necessarily a bad thing. Obviously, it hooked me enough to want to read on to get the answers. I liked the intense fight scenes. [...]

    16. The story focuses around Layla a half-breed of vampire called a Dhampir. She has been moved to a vampire school to further her skill in the are of fighting. There is also another Dhampir, Nikalye, who can see the past, present, and future. Layla's guardian and friend. One other character that is most intriguing is Shade, one of her trainers who she finds an immediate attraction too. This book has all the makings of a 5 star. I cannot wait to read Dark Shadows the second book of this great story. [...]

    17. A vampire saga with a twist.tally different kind of story line with a cool new take as to the origins of vampire. Also a different kind of Demon, the Shadow Demon is a crazy bad thing to come up against. I really enjoyed this first installment to the Cursed in Darkness series and hope to read all of them. This one has a cliffhanger of a stopping point that made my jaw drop, like, Oh No! You gota be kidding me!! I do recommend this to adults who enjoys paranormal fantasy and erotic romance.

    18. Natalie Hancock Eternal Darkness Cursed in Darkness #1This book is a great start to a promising series. Although it’s full of the normal “scene setting” for a first book, it still has a strong storyline and you’ll be left wanting to know more about many of the characters and what’s in store for them. Well written with sexy scenes, I was completely drawn into their world with my imagination happily painting the scenes in my head. Next onto book 2. I received an e-copy from the author in [...]

    19. I won this in an online contest and was sent an ebook version. I believe this was Ms. Hancock's first novella, not sure. While I think the story could have benefited from some extra details and a little more"filler" if you will, I still enjoyed it. Everything, from the fight scenes to the erotic scenes were very descriptive. It does end rather abruptly, but I did also win book 2, so I'll be on to that next. In any event, I think it was a nice little read.

    20. I really wanted to give this book 5 stars the only reason i didnt was because the book started a bit slow with lots of discritive writing in places, however do no let this put you off the book ended up being a fantastic read with a clifhanger ending leaving you thirsty for the next book, the characters were likeable especially Shade who seems very delicious.if you love vampire romance you will love this book, im looking forward to reading book 2

    21. An action packed book keeps you hanging into very word ! Not only does Natalie describe her scenes perfectly she makes you feel like u are actually standing there watching the story unfold ! With a little taste of each character and wanting to know and feel more ! Excellent Job ! I'm of to read book 2 immediately !

    22. Amazing read. I couldn't put it down. I don't know if this series is discontinued or what, but I am having hell finding the rest of the books. I just purchased the 2nd book on Smashwords. The only place I could find it. I loved the plot and storyline and can't wait to get started on the 2nd book!

    23. Creative and very well written. I enjoyed this book, and cannot wait to read more by Natalie. Amazing work! ~Amelia~ Erotica Book Club

    24. This book was really good but it ended way to soon. If you love paranormal books you won't want to miss this one.
