    1. Having read Dead Radiance and enjoyed it, I was expecting to enjoy Dead Embers and I totally did. In fact, I liked it even more than the first book in this awesome series.I love that Bryn learned how to fly and I liked her growth in the story. The ending was stellar and I'm really looking forward to reading the final book when it comes online.I started to like Joshua a little more in this book and found my feelings over Aidan mixed. I'm not sure if Ayer has something planned there, but I look fo [...]

    2. Note I received a copy for an Honest Review. I did this review for Bex N Books Dead Embers picks up immediately from where Dead Radiance finished. And trust me it was heart wrenching! This book takes a darker turn than book one and it makes the book. The dark undertone takes nothing away but gives everything to the plot. This book takes you further into the world of Norse Mythology and takes you on a thrilling dark twisty ride that will leave you breathless and on the edge of your seat. The roma [...]

    3. Taken from my original review at: gothicangelbookreviewsspoI was lucky enough to get an ARC of Dead Embers from the author, TG Ayer. I had previously read, reviewed and LOVED the first book in the series, Dead Radiance. So I was overjoyed to get this ARC and to find out what was happening with Bryn and Aidan. In case you haven’t read Dead Radiance, but have come to read my review, I will try not to have any spoilers in my review. I do try not to spoil things for people anyway, but I am obviousl [...]

    4. I listened to this book through audible. I am a huge fan of this author and love this series!!!!The storyline to this book is so exciting…. There really are thrills and chills throughout the whole book, right up to the last sentence of this book And what an ending!!!!! I am so excited to read the next book and find out what will happen next in this amazing series!!! In every book I have read by this author it draws you into the magical world and makes you want to be a part of it and this book [...]

    5. I’m really loving T.G. Ayer’s Valkyrie Series. It got off to a rousing start in Dead Radiance and now the follow-up book 2 in the series, Dead Embers, is a fantastic sophomore achievement. The author has created a fantastic Norse myth based world, with Odin and his chosen warriors, Loki, the Norse Hel, dwarfs, dragons, and everything else you could conceivably want. I love Valkyries. I love the heroine here Valkyrie-in-training Bryn Halbrook. She may face time of problems with her boyfriend [...]

    6. This series already has me down for the count with running into this one. You step yet again into this exciting fantasy world. Bryn will be the main one that captures you in this. She continues in this one her character growing. She also has other characters that will fill you with their part also. The danger will build with your emotions being plucked. If mythology your thing this one is up your alley. This world will have you into it so much you will not mind how she will have you coming back [...]

    7. No sophomore slump hereThis book dives right back into where the action of Dead Radiance leaves off without one second to recover from the end of that book. This continuation kept me on the edge of my reading chair throughout and I can't wait to dive into book 3. Bryn and her cohorts are exciting to read and well rounded characters. That's about all I can say without giving spoilers which I refuse to ever do in a review. I request a copy of this book so I could post a review.

    8. I definitely enjoyed reading this book. It's more solidly based in the world of norse mythology, and you get to experience several levels of growth and development as a fairly new valkyrie along with Bryn. This book is a roller coaster of assumed good intentions with treacherous endings. I'm just itching to read book 2, after the way this book ends. I'd recommend this book to fans of mythology and fantasy, and I'd highly recommend you read this series in order.

    9. Ok I have to say that this is going to be a case of this book is my new favorite book. it picked up right after the last ended. Questions from the last book will be answered. And this book will have new questions. There is lots of action and love. It will also keep you reading all night until you have finished reading it.

    10. Someone is destroying new warriors before they can be retrieved. No new warriors for Odin or Freya's army to battle in Ragnarok. Bryn is captured and kept drugged, but doesn't know why.Well written, with great characters and plot. Can't wait for book 3!I voluntarily read and honestly reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

    11. Someone is destroying new warriors before they can be retrieved. No new warriors for Odin or Freya's army to battle in Ragnarok. Bryn is captured and kept drugged, but doesn't know why.Well written, with great characters and plot. Can't wait for book 3!I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book.

    12. A world all its ownThe author has woven a world all its own, filed with Valkries, gods and warriors who struggle to prepare for the last battle between good and evil. But betrayal abounds at every turn and not knowing who you can trust could get you killed.

    13. Again what a wonderful exciting masterfully story that contiunes the story of the Valkyrie Bryn and her friends facing so many dangers. I so enjoyed the second book and look forward to reading the next one.

    14. Another awesome Valkyrie book!! Love how well written the characters are and a unique show of Norse mythos. Bring on book 3!

    15. Embers This is an awesome series for Norse mythology. Brin is overwhelmed by all the chaos that seems to follow her and her friends

    16. Wow so grateful to be able to review the second book. Just as amazing and am definitely ready for the next. Such action

    17. Originally posted on the blog: What the Cat ReadThere is little question that I enjoyed this book much more than I did the first of the series. Taking place directly after the events of Dead Radiance, Dead Embers continues Bryn’s training to become a Valkyrie and forces her to meet a new set of challenges. There’s also more betrayal…as if you didn’t see that coming…only this time the betrayal hits much closer to home. I can definitely say that Ayer’s has managed to write a great book [...]

    18. Dead Radiance was one of my favorite books a few years ago when it first came out and since then I have been so excited to continue the series. Dead Embers picks up right where Dead Radiance leaves off. Since the first three books are all out now, I would recommend reading series one right after another because TG Ayer has a super talent for crazy cliffhangers that leave you wishing for the next book to be in your hands ASAP. (Just a warning) This is going to be a really hard review for me to wr [...]

    19. 4.5 StarsDead Radiance, Book 1, ended on a cliffhanger, and I wasn’t too disappointed because I knew I was able to read Dead Embers immediately. Now that I’ve finished Dead Embers, I’m bummed because I have to wait until March 2013 for Dead Chaos (Book 3) to be released!Dead Embers takes off from the very minute that Dead Radiance finished, so I was happy that I didn’t miss a thing. Dead Embers has a lot more action than the first book, and as you all know, I am an action junkie, so I co [...]

    20. (Source: I received a digital copy of this book for free on a read-to-review basis. Thanks to author T. G. Ayer.)This is book 2 in the ‘Valkyrie’ series, and kicks off where book 1 left off.**Warning – some unavoidable spoilers for book 1 ‘Dead Radiance’.Following the events of book 1 it is now up to Bryn to rescue Aidan from Hel, but unfortunately she’s got other things to worry about too.Warriors are being lost everywhere. Every time a Valkyrie goes to retrieve a new warrior their [...]

    21. Dead Embers by T.G. Ayer is the second novel in the Valkyrie series and I loved it. This book literally took off where Dead Radiance ended and that was great since you don’t want to miss anything in this series. Just like the previous novel I was pulled into this story from the beginning and I knew I’d to finish it in one sitting.Bryn Halbrook is the female main character and I have to say she grew more into her character and what she needs to do to succeed in this book. She just had to leav [...]

    22. I really, really like this story So why did I give it just a 2 star rating?I first have to refer you to all the four and five star reviews. They just gush about what a great srory this is (and I agree, but what they don't address are the bones of the story.Spelling is good, but the author writes with no memory of what she has written before. In one major scene, Loki has been captured and his hands chained with a golden magical chain. When he delivers a speech that indicates Bryn is the one resp [...]

    23. WOW! T G Ayer sure packs a longship full of action, intrigue and emotional turmoil on poor Bryn in her latest norse fantasy adventure as a modern clone Valkyrie. Things start rather sad and upsetting as both the reader and Bryn reels from Loki's treachery at the end of the last book, Dead Radiance. But Bryn being Bryn doesn't stay down in the dumps for too long before pressing matters regarding her personal valkyrie training raises her out of her room. The chapters where she learns to fly are ve [...]

    24. _________________________________Dead Radiance Review_________________________________Full formatting of this review at link above. I absolutely love mythology, so when I heard this was Norse mythology on top of that-had to read it! Norse mythology! So Thor might not make an appearance, but same idea.In all seriousness, this is about a girl named Bryn-a girl whose life changes drastically after her friend dies. She then realizes that these auras she has seen her whole life mean death. To clarify, [...]

    25. If you love a book that is suspenseful and full of adventure this is the book for you. I absolutely loved reading this second book in this series. It was just as good if not better than the first book. It was an intense, sweet, and heart stopping book that I couldn’t put down once I started reading it.I absolutely adored Bryn more in this book. I couldn’t help but sympathize with her throughout everything she was going through. My heart broke for her more than once. I was so proud of her bec [...]

    26. Let me start out by staying holy cow has this book turned out to be EPIC!! I mean seriously, talk about a freakin page turner. This book is full of mystery, suspense, action, adventure and total surprises from one page to the next. For me, this book was fully of holding your breath kind of moments. I am actually surprised I am still breathing now. Here we start out with the devastated Bryn and her broken hearted as Aiden is poisoned by the trickster Loki and now is fighting for his life in Hel. [...]

    27. Earlier this summer, I read Dead Radiance, the first book in the Valkyrie series and loved it. So I was very excited to get to read Dead Embers! This book did not disappoint! While I liked it a tiny bit less (but not much, I really had a hard time deciding whether to give this book a 4.5 or a 4) than Dead Radiance, I thought this book was a great follow up to the first book.Again, one of the things that I loved about this book is the mythology. It's just so cool. I don't know much at all about V [...]

    28. My review of Dead Embers (A Valkyrie Novel Book 2 ) by T. G. AYERSRating 5*****This book was provided free from the author in exchange for honest literary review. Bryn is adjusting to life in Asgard. She and Sigrun have developed a bff type relationship and she is earning her own level of respect there. Only thing is Aidan is still gravely ill from the poison obtained from Loki. Things only remained calm on Asgard for a moment however. It seems someone of something is poisoning the new warriors [...]

    29. The second book picks up soon after where the first book ended. Bryn is now a Valkyrie in training. Without her best friend by her side, Bryn has a hard time – doubting herself and second guessing her decisions. But time isn’t on her side either. She has to save Aiden and find out who is poisoning people soon as without new warriors, they have little hope of winning the looming war.The character of Bryn is in a spiral mode in the instalment. On one hand she is second guessing all her decisio [...]

    30. Dead Embers picks up immediately from where Dead Radiance finished, throwing the reader headlong into the emotional and heart wrenching moment that shocked many to the core.Second guessing every decision she has ever made has left Bryn confused and in a tailspin of self doubt - and without her most trusted friend at her side, she struggles to cope as Ragnorak quickly approaches. Warned by the god's to trust no-one, Bryn is yet again thrust into a journey fraught with betrayal, leading her to que [...]
