    1. Ms. Jordan, sorry, 2 stars, and I am being kind. I am at 91% and I consider the book read. Honestly I had reached this conclusion at 50% but thought I must give credit to the author and at least see what happens after they decided to get married.Well, nothing happened.Cleo refused to have sex. Hero (can't even remember his name now and I read this book yesterday.) tried and must have her or he would die of erection. Then Cleo went crazy and acted like some slut high on drug and played with his p [...]

    2. Cleopatra aka Cleo is another of Jack Hadley's illegit daughters, there is a total of four, each with different women. He comes into each of his daughters lives when they are grown and he wants to make good marriages for them and provide them with a dowry. This is Cleo's and Logan's story.Logan is an impoverished Scottish Lord who needs to find a rich wife to help him restore his castle and provide a better life for his siblings. He has a candidate in mind.Cleo vows that she will not end up like her [...]

    3. To sum it up, Logan was dreamy and Cleo became a bit of an indecisive ninny. Here's why.Sophie Jordan is a new author for me. Her writing is pretty simple, but she tells a great story. This one started off gothic and very compelling. Cleo had a very rough childhood and a clear reason for why she wanted to marry an elderly earl. Logan is responsible for his Scottish Earldom and has to marry for money to save it. They meet through an acquaintance and sparks immediately fly. Logan discovers that he [...]

    4. Near gothic beginning with the elderly titled lecher - very fun! Then things took a turn for the dumb and boring.

    5. Miss Cleopatra Hadley grew up impoverished with her mother and stepfather and has just delivered yet another stillborn babe to be buried when she vows to never be at the mercy of a man, never let her body betray her. When her birth father suddenly appears in her life, she goes with him in exchange for enough money to keep her mother and all her siblings in a decent life. A bit of time passes and Cleo has begun a campaign to wed a doddering old earl, in part to please her father with the English [...]

    6. I'm kind of wondering if the title here was meant for a different book because Cleo isn't really scandalous. She actually does everything in her power to be as conventional as possible. I think a more apt title would be 'Lessons from a Scandalous Groom', but that doesn't have the same wham bam attention grabber.I was enjoying this book up until the actual marriage (does that count as a spoiler since the title involves bride?). Cleo was a little frustrating with her constant internal admonitions [...]

    7. My Synopsis:Cleopatra Hadley knew what it was to live a hard life. She knew what it was to live in poverty--to live without. She knew there were better ways to live then the life she led. Her stepfather kept her mother in a perpetual state of pregnancy, and they had fourteen children with another four lying in a neighboring cemetery to prove it. Cleo did what she could to help, but at times there wasn't enough to eat or enough money for them all to be properly clothed. Her own father had been ou [...]

    8. Rating: B-/C+ Heat: WarmLife has not been kind to Cleopatra Hadley or her family. When the story opens, Cleo is holding in her arms the body of yet another stillborn half-sibling. Cleo is charged with the harrowing task of taking the tiny body to the undertaker. This is a familiar occurrence for Cleo, who is her mother’s oldest daughter—one of fourteen living children and numerous that did not survive. Cleo’s life is filled with births and deaths, all at the hands of her stepfather and hi [...]

    9. Cleopatra Hadley has good reasons to marry the decrepit but titled genteman she's angling for. She doesn't WANT a man who makes her mouth water. She's seen firsthand what happens to women who succumb to those feelings--and to their children. Her father wants her to marry a title, so she's picked the oldest and hopefully most impotent suitor possible. As for Scottish Lord Logan McKinney, he's getting used to the idea that love won't be a factor in his marriage. His family and estate need money--lo [...]

    10. The second book in the Forgotten Princess series about the second Illegitimate daughter of Jack Hadley aka Cleo Hadley and Scottish Lord Logan McKinney Cleo lived with her mother, step father and step siblings until adulthood Jack Hadley searches for his illegitimate children and finally finds Cleo His man pays Cleo's Step father some money and takes away Cleo to London Jack wants Cleo to get married to a English nobleman with a title so he offers her a huge dowry to make her one of the most so [...]

    11. Again, I say I CANNOT stand an overly strong minded heroine. I mean to the point you want to reach inside the book and slap some reality into her. A heroine like that makes it hard to feel any kind of sympathy for her and it makes it hard to believe that she could turn a complete 360 and feel love and romantic emotions for the man she is overly hostile and stubborn towards. This heroine (and I use the term loosely)…was annoying to no end, which basically took away from truly connecting to the [...]

    12. I'm so glad this story didn't waste any time on convoluted plots or deceptions. Instead I found a simple, straightforward storyline that focused on Cleo and Logan's budding romantic relationship and subsequent marriage. Cleo's background--an over large family steeped in poverty and rife with premature death--was original and fascinating. Her fear of being trapped in the same type of family life as her mother was real and a strong motivator to avoid marriage to any virile man and instead secure a [...]

    13. Lessons from a Scandalous Bride3 StarsThe first book in this series is one of my rare five star reads, but this is a very poor follow up. Cleo and Logan's romance has incredible potential. Unfortunately, neither one is particularly likable, and the drama and angst surrounding their prejudicial attitudes, reluctant attraction and marriage woes is just over the top. The reasons for Cleo's aversion to sex are plausible enough, but the manner in which the issue is resolved is not at all believable. [...]

    14. SPOILER ALERT!This was so-so. I wasn't expecting much anyway, I just wanted to travel to the reading world a little, without really caring for what I was reading.Anyway, the male main character was cute, but there wasn't anything special about him. Handsome, tall, the perfect - and typical - Scottish lord we can find in most novels from this same genre. Logan was an ok character. Cleo, on the other hand She was way too stubborn through the whole book, only complicating things that were way too s [...]

    15. I received this ARC via Edelweiss in exchange for my honest opinion. I am in no way obligated to give a glowing review. However, I am glad to give this one five stars because it was fantastic. Tugged at my emotions right from the start. I was actually wiping away tears as Cleo was carrying her infant brother to the graveyard. Wow! This story really was so emotional. The attraction between Cleo & Logan sizzled. They just couldn't deny the chemistry between them no matter that they both starte [...]

    16. Plot summary: Lying, manipulative, inconsiderate, overbearing jackass finds happily ever after with a woman with an emotional arc consistent with severe psychiatric disorders (Why isn't he paying attention to me? DON'T TOUCH ME! How can he ignore me? OMG HE'S KISSING ANOTHER WOMAN! I can't resist your punishing kisses and rage sex! I'M LEAVING YOU! Oh, darling, I'll love you forever and ever!).This book would not have been possible without repeated generous contributions from Inability To Commun [...]

    17. A cute read. Scottish hero, English Heroine who saw her mother have many babies, many who died and is afraid of love, afraid to become her mother. We see into the thoughts of both characters and root for them both. This is the 2nd in the Forgotten Princesses. !st is about Greir, Wicked in your arms. #rd is I presume about Annalise, How to lose a bride in a night. They are 1/2 sisters. I am now going to search for those to read. However, the story about the 1st sister is in another series, Wicked [...]

    18. This book was a decent historical read, but I wanted more from it than there was. Cleo was selfish, to my way of thinking, only believing in one aspect of marriage, one of the worst ones she could. Logan was an unapologetic hero, but he was also a bit of a jerk too, only wanting Cleo's surrender. Neither of them attempted to understand the other, and yet they enter a marriage based on lust alone! I was not surprised she wanted to leave! It was entertaining enough for a Sunday afternoon, but I'm [...]

    19. Cleo was SO weak when it came to her hormones that I wanted to smack her through half of the book, but that aside, it was quite entertaining. 3.5/5

    20. July 17, 2017 I read and finished three books well with some skimming actually. 1. Lord Havelock's List (morning till afternoon)2. Mr. Cavendish, I presume ( mid afternoon till evening)3. Lessons From a Scandalous Bride (midnight - dawn)to be honest I mostly Skimmed then for one same reason I want to know the ending immediately and the story as well as fast as I could. It doesn't mean this three books are awful actually there quite good but I finish them so fast because I was skipping some parts [...]

    21. Cleo Hadley's been rescued from poverty and the oppression of her stepfather by a wealthy father she's never known but she hasn't left behind the fears and worries that she's carried all of her life along with the heartache of lost siblings. She's learned that there are no promises kept, no love of a man worth sacrificing a life for, and that she's sworn that she will live her life the way she chooses not the way a man chooses for her. Her father, Jack Hadley, is seeking a higher standing in ton [...]

    22. Review originally posted at Ramblings From This ChickI really enjoy this story. I liked the chemistry between Cleo and Logan. I liked the dynamics between them.Cleopatra Hadley has wants no part of being married. She has watched her mother time and again get used and discarded by her step father one too many times and is not a fan of the consequences. So when her long father comes to collect her in the hopes that she will marry and marry well she know she must think of a plan. She decides to set [...]

    23. This book was what I wanted from the second in the Forgotten Princess series and more! First off I didn't realize it was directly connected to "Wicked in Your Arms" until it mentioned in the first few pages about Grier, but I should have known better because as an after thought I remembered that Cleo, the lovely subject of this one, was in the first book when Grier was introduced to her towards the end when their father found out about her.Anyways, "Bride" was truly a great heart wrenching story [...]

    24. Sophie Jordan's second work in a trilogy of forgotten princesses, "Lessons from a Scandalous Bride," could itself stand a few additional lessons, as this story failed to appeal to me as strongly as her other works. Brought to London by her estranged father, wealthy scoundrel Jack Hadley, Cleo Hadley is determined to avoid her mother's fate: helpless to the demands of a drunkard husband who confines her to the sickbed as a result of near-constant pregnancies. As the eldest child, Cleo had been ta [...]

    25. Posted on Romancing the Book's blogReviewed by AshleighReview Copy Provided by the PublisherFor Cleo Hadley a life in the ton is something that she never dreamed was possible. When you come from a family with less than nothing and a step father that is repulsive to everyone, life is barely worth leading. when a stranger comes to her home and shatters everything she thought she knew about herself, it could just be the best thing that ever happened to her. But the fears of losing herself to a man [...]

    26. I liked, didn't love the book. I hate harpy females and Cleo's hang ups we're kind of ridiculous. Logan put up with a lot. Then the ending felt rushed. There were some good moments but not the best one I read.

    27. Lessons from a Scandalous Bride was a cute and sometimes steamy read, although it didn't quite live up to the first book. This time we meet one of Grier's half-sisters, Cleo. Their father has just collected her from her very full home and brought her to live with him and hopefully find a titled husband. Cleo has no interest in love or passion. She just wants a man whom she can live comfortably with and provide for her many siblings. Which is why she's been courting an 80 year old earl. At least [...]

    28. **Disclaimer**I received this book through a giveaway hosted on a blogger's site. My review is of my own opinion. Thank you."Lessons From A Scandalous Bride" is book #2 in the "Forgotten Princesses" series. Although the actual reading order might be different because some of the characters involved have their own books already. (You'll understand what I mean if you read the series) You might want to check out Sophie Jordan's site for specific details here or find her profile on .Miss Cleopatra H [...]
