    1. Two young sisters head off to what used to be Sin Cityd that turns out to be a gamble neither were prepared for! Well written, vividly descriptive and eviln't miss this author!

    2. A good prelude to the Shining in Crimson novel, but don't expect it to be about the same topic. Think of it more as a separate story told in the same world. Two sisters go out to visit Necropolis, formally Vegas. The oldest just plans to scare her little sister and maybe find some valuable old currency. They should be in and out before nightfall, or so they thought. This is a good short story that is fairly well written. It is certainly enjoyable.

    3. This short story is a great read. Right away the reader is pulled in, getting to travel along with sisters Jackie and Kate on what was supposed to be just a quick day trip, but of course nothing goes as planned. This is a wonderful way to get the reader drawn into the city of Necropolis.

    4. nice short story, got me interested in the books I have not read about Necropolis, world of scary vampires, yeah

    5. Someone please SLAP Jackie on the back of the head for lack of competence! Kudos for a great Keep-You-On-Your-Toes short read.

    6. This short story was well written. I just wish it had been a bit longer, but it does give you a great look into what to look forward to and a small amount of background for the first novel. The first six chapters are in the version I got. Wilson has me intrigued with Necropolis formerly Las Vegas were sinner go to die. Looks like only the vampires will hit a winning streak here.

    8. Let me explain. I have one of those sisters, the know-it-all who used to get me in trouble. We're adults and to this day she would still get me in trouble for agreeing with her "ideas". Luckily for me and she, I am the oldest. So I immediately understood the premise of the oldest sister who had a stupid scheme that got both sisters in knee-deep trouble. I thoroughly enjoyed this book (and cheated by skipping to the last pages to see what happened -- it was a swiping accident, I swear). The chara [...]

    9. ExtraordinaryThis and Shining in Crimson was an excellent read. Putting a great spin on the human race globally and it's politics with vampires. I'm a shut in, so much to my chagrin, I doubt I'll be able to see how this series ends. But if you begin the series, I promise you will absolutely want to see it through. It's a great read for adults who love the horror and supernatural genre. Unlike most that you find which are geared more toward female teenagers or young adults.

    10. I enjoyed where the story was going. It even persuaded me to read the original. However, it just seemed like it was written by a child. I wasn't impressed with it entirely. Too many cheesy metaphors, etc. I will try to read the original though as I'm interested in the story.
