    1. OK, full disclosure: I am one of the editors of this collection of stories and comics.However, I have to say, it truly is good. High literary quality writing where the stories or characters have some element of crime. This is not genre fiction. Think stories like in Denis Johnson's "Jesus' Son" collection, or Nabokov's "Lolita" or Graham Green'a "The Quiet American" or M. Cain's "In the Heat of the Night".Before working on this project I did not read much crime fiction, or so I thought, but then [...]

    2. What will hopefully be a long-continuing effort offers a forum for what I expect will be called "noveau noir". Some pieces are gemlike, others call for strong stomachs. There should be something for everyone in the shadowy fandom.Comment Comment | Permalink
