While Dominic sneaks food to British soldiers in hiding Antonio loses his family and is conscripted as a muleteer into the German Army. The two boys' paths cross near the end of the story leaving each better off [...]

    2. I wouldn't normally be drawn to read books about WWII, but this is an excellent read. Suspenseful and heartwarming.
