    1. For a book called Tippi of Africa, I was really expecting Tippi to make her appearance well before the second half of the book. Not that her parents didn't lead interesting lives before she was born, but they weren't why I picked this book up. (I also may have been more interested in her parents' early adventures if I had some idea of who they were before I started reading.)Alain Degre also made a rather negative impression on me from the very beginning of the book, which coloured my view of him [...]

    2. Mooi verhaal. Een tamelijk misleidende titel: Tippi verschijnt pas in de tweede helft van het boek ten tonele, en is niet het hoofdonderwerp. De 1e helft zie ik ook niet als een extreem lange inleiding op. Het gaat gewoon over haar ouders, hoe die elkaar ontmoeten, wat voor leven ze leidden alleen en samen, wat ze allemaal deden in Afrika en uiteindelijk ook hoe Tippi in hun leven kwam en leuk met dieren was. Het idee van afwisselend vanuit Alain en Sylvie schrijven is leuk, ik vergat alleen con [...]

    3. A true story about a French couple who have a baby in the South African bush. Tippi grows up with wild animals as her best friends. Great storytelling and beautiful imagery.
